Hey all, I am a first time poster so hopefully this comes out alright.

My DW and I will be traveling to Disney World this upcoming spring and I wanted to set up a unique experience for her. She is a longtime Disney fan who has admittedly converted me during our last several trips to Disney. The problem is this:

She knows everything about the parks...

As a result any of the less common experiences I might surprise her with: a carriage ride, one of the wishes cruises, a dinner at V&A's or even the Keys to the Kingdom tour, she knows all about and has done many of in the past.

I have tried calling the Disney Florist, VIP tours, etc and asked if I could set up some sort of unique experience but they only seem to have pretty by-the-menu options. However my wife has repeatedly talked about these amazing unique experiences that people report in their trip reports, so I am assuming there must be some way to do it.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge with this?

What about trying Gifts of a Lifetime?

They're not part of Disney but do arrange special events and experiences such as getting on a ride before/after you then either during the ride or as you get off presenting your SO with flowers, etc.

They're pretty flexible as well so may be able to arrange something a little different... :)

Thank you for the suggestion jharrowell! I was not familiar with them and they do do some really cool stuff. I am not sure any of it quite fits for this trip, but I plan to keep them stocked away for future trips.

I'd recommend against them. I've read some not so stellar reports from others. As a longtime Disney fan myself, I know I'd feel a little "eh" about it based on the things I've heard. Try contacting those who work with weddings. They may be able to assist or point you in the right direction.

Can I ask what you've heard/your reasons for not using them?

I only ask because I've used them twice and had great service.

Oh, back OT:

What about the new dining experience at V&A (I don't know the details but they are on the boards somewhere)?

Not exactly cheap but special and very romantic...

I considered it myself but my partner doesn't like "playing dress up".

Second thought: Where are you staying?

There are some resort exclusive events that might work such as the Sunrise Safari for Club guests at AKL.

Hi, My DH and I went last Feb alone no kiddies and we went on a wonderful horse and carriage ride in Port. We took a night cruise from The Yacht Club to see the EPCOT fireworks and we had a romantic dinner at Nacrossis in the Grand Floridian and watched the MK fireworks from dinner table. I found a lot f information on AllEars.net they have the phone numbers for the carriage phone number and Cruises. Good Luck and have a lot of fun

I did a search and couldn't find anything negative :confused3

Here's a thread that says just the opposite:

Have you tried www.memoriesbybetsy.com?

I hear great things from them. They can help you arrange much more personal gift baskets than the ones you get at DisneyFlorist. And one of the best things is, you can send them your own items to be included in a package, which can make it even more personal and you send something like say...a photo of you together in a special DisneyWorld frame.

Hi GoofyTexan12! I don't know how romantic this would be for you, but for me, I'll never forget it. We went to one of those pick-a-pearl places, for us it was the one in front of the Y&B club. DH picked the pearl and I picked the setting. Of course, they always ring the bell when you open your pearl, so that was kind of neat. Then we got our anniversary gift. Since I didn't get an engagement ring, and the pearl is my birthstone, this was a perfect anniversary gift. Also, we celebrated with a Kitchen Sink Sundae at B&C soda shoppe, where they blink the lights and make a big announcement when you get your sundae. Hey, our idea of "romantic"!

A few years ago my DH set up a private dining experiece with the GF. We had dinner on a private balcony. We ordered off the menu (maybe Citrocos) and had our own waiter, it only cost $50 more on top of what we ordered. He had flowers and wine awaiting at the table. After dinner we went on the wishes cruise. My DH had pre ordered our dessert and that was waiting for us on the boat. The waiter led us to the boat and carried the flowers. It was a perfect night, and one of the most romantic I've ever had.

For our 32nd Anni. in 2007 when we stayed at the Poly I filled the room with flowers, balloons, and a huge stuffed Mickey.:)
DH opened the door and was completely overcome. He was so surprised, even cried.

This year for our 35th Anni. I'm taking him to Queen Victoria's Room at V&As. And once again surprising him with flowers.:woohoo:
