Googling is producing ideas for silhouettes, parasols, pressed pennies, framed name art... any other unique gift/souvenir ideas for Disneyland that I wouldn't be able to just buy online? or are there any non-personalized products (toys, etc) that you really can only get in the parks? My sister and I wasted time looking for Small World dolls for our girls a couple years ago in WDW to find that they were available online, and for cheaper! D'oh! I figured I would arm myself in advance for DLR - 5 days out! :)

There are artists that can paint your "portrait" and you can get it framed there as well. I had this done of my daughter last Oct. and I love how it came out! I have the word "portrait" in quotes because it is kind of cartoony... you can get full face or profile.

You'll be there during the Diamond Celebration - be sure to pick up special souvenirs specific to this important event! You can find diamond-themed items at restaurants and shops all over the parks that aren't posted online, including pins (if you're into trading or collecting). There were also DLR and DCA-specific souvenir popcorn buckets and cups when I was there last year.

Yes, the popcorn buckets are great! Also, maybe look at the Starbucks mugs!

Definitely check out the Starbucks mugs. The DL mug is only available at the Market House on Main Street and the DCA mug is only available at FF&P at Carthay Circle/BVS. Maybe look into some of the DLR Dooney & Bourke Bags or Harveys bags? Even though they can be found online, often certain styles sell out quickly, so finding one you like at DLR can be a treat.

Some of the ride specific merchandise can be fun, like Tower of Terror bathrobes, Grizzly River Run t-shirts, and Haunted Mansion t-shirts. And of course, the huuuuuge variety of Mouse Ears Hats, but I'm not sure if they're all also offered online.

Have fun!

I think my DH will give me quite a look if I try to bring home a mug. Somehow we brought home 4 the last trip to WDW, LOL!! No regrets, though. :) The Dooney's are super cute, esp the HM one, but I have a hard time justifying the cost... unless in person it's irresistible. :)

I justify my dooney purchases by saying how often do I change purses or need a new purse cause it's broken with the cheap purses?

As far as souvenirs, almost everything is online now. There really is at a whole lot that's special and unique to just the parks. You will even see the Florida orange guy on ca merchandise which is really weird since ca never had the orange.
I suggest getting the Disney parks shopping app. Then if it is park exclusive you can still order it "online" from home.

I put the app on my phone. Thanks for the rec!!

Advice I needed about 10 days ago, alas. I had grand plans to make it to Market House and get the "You are Here" DL mug, but lines and crowds and such made it nearly impossible. I should have gotten in the line at Market House the first night because the kids had already gone back to the hotel with DH after PTN and fireworks, but I'd just stood in line at the photo store for probably 30 minutes and then spent another 30 there trying to get Jedi Training Academy photos connected to the rest of my PhotoPass ones. By that time, the second PTN was already taking place and I mostly wanted to get back to the hotel myself rather than stand in line for another 20 minutes. On Sunday we spent most of the day at DCA and only came over to DL in the evening. We ended up leaving just ahead of the parade, but the CMs directed us to the back way behind Main Street so I couldn't duck into Market House without backtracking through the parade crowd and against traffic.

Then on Monday I said I was definitely going to be at Market House for a mug, and also definitely going to the Star Wars Launch Bay because I still hadn't been inside that building (the kids and DH have been there twice, once in 2013 while I was holding a spot for Fantasmic, and this trip while I was holding our curb seats for the parade). However, we'd also expected lighter crowds, so it threw off our plan for the entire day. In Touring Plans, we were supposed to be able to do everything we wanted and be done by 3:30 pm. Reality: between rides breaking down and wait times that were about twice as long as predicted, we didn't do everything on our list and instead gave up at 7:30 pm to go over to DCA, ride Soarin' (which had been closed during EMH due to problems) and then get in line for WOC. I didn't get to Market House and I didn't get to Launch Bay. Instead, I figured I'd just stop at the DD Starbucks on Tuesday morning before our flight...and then and only then discovered that they didn't have the mugs. :( Ironically, I'd also had plans to order coffee via the mobile app earlier during our trip and grab it on the way back to the hotel one afternoon, but we were too busy all three of the days to do that. (Tangentially: I'm not quite sure how we survived three very long, busy days at DLR without afternoon coffee, but there you go.)

There is a silver lining: I'd seen the mugs on Amazon, so I just ordered from there. I'm a little sad that I didn't personally get them at DL, but oh well. Maybe my next visit will allow a little more time for shopping.

Eek! I rarely drink coffee in the afternoon but DH def does. Note to self: don't get it at Starbucks!! We had been hoping for a lighter crowd, but I gave up on that notion last week, with everyone's recent crowd stories plus so many rides closed. And that was part of the reason for this post - if we find something unique to DL to buy, I don't want to wait until "later" to research if it's avail online, and never be able to go back and get it. I figured I should arm myself in advance with as much info as possible! Thanks everyone!!

There are 4 Starbucks now at the resort. The one by the world of Disney is the most crowded always. But usually the ones in the park get more crowded as the day goes on. As on cast member once told me take the longest wait time for any ride and double it and that's usually the wait time for Starbucks.

The line for Market House always looks intimidating but they are fast! Like seriously fast! Much faster than my local SB! I've been out the door waiting at MH and been out of there with my coffee in about 15 minutes.
