I am in managment , so I am not union , the people who work in my depts are in the union. where do you loyalties lie?
i would cross the picket line

I have no loyalties here. I hope both sides can reach an agreement, but my December trip will go forward regardless.

It depends on how you feel..........

If you believe that the unions have merit to their issues, than do what you must.

However, if you believe that the union is/was given good options in negotiations, then cross the line.

Keep in mind: No position is a position.

Let us know how you make out.

My December trip has been booked and paid for for almost a year. It will go forward as planned.

I have mixed feelings. Not because of unions...but because I just don't know if it would be the same. Would the cm's that took the place of the union cm's have that same Disney magic. That is what WDW is all about. Without the magic, it would be just another amusement park.

My loyalties will ALWAYS lie with management in this situation. I have been that manager, filling in for a striking union employee. I have been kept awake for 3 days straight doing their job, been sworn at, had obscene gestures made at me, and been assigned police protection because of strike tactics. I'm SO against union strike tactics that it's not even funny. I quit my old job in part because of the type of work environment that strike threats foster. I'm sad to know that Disney could fall prey to a strike.

My family will not cross the picket, which has left us in precarious situations in the past, but so be it. Why don't they just pay those people a bit more? I would gladly pay more at the gate for happier/ friendlier CM's.

It's been talked about on The Rumors and News Board for a couple of months.

I agree. Like all those top execs in Disney don't give themselves quite the salary and raise, but they won't spare an extra nickel an hour for their workers. The CMs are the ones who keep Disney what it is-without the workers there wouldn't be anyone to manage, so that would put management out of jobs. Take care of your workers and they won't strike!

I would never cross a picket line. It can get pretty dangerous and it's not worth the risk. I hope your job isn't put on the line here.

We don't have a trip coming up so it's easy to say that I wouldn't cross. However if we had a trip coming, it would take some thought.

I don't go out of my way to cross picket lines, but I have no problem doing so if there are picketers outside someplace I'm going into. WDW would be no different.
