Thanks for the replies so far...
Here is the situation: We will be going to Boston on a Friday morning, staying at the Seaport Hotel till Sunday. We'll be doing some sightseeing on Friday afternoon and having lunch in Quincy Market. I already am planning on going to Durgin Park or Elephant & Castle for lunch that day since they're both at Quincy Market and we can walk to them. I got the idea for those 2 places from DISers, thanks.
That evening we are going to a laser show at the Museum of Science. The show ends around 7pm, then we'll be heading to a late dinner. This is when I thought the Union Oyster House would be a good idea. DH grew up in MA but I don't believe he's ever been there before.
We've been to Legal Seafood, DH wasn't all that impressed, especially for the price. We don't mind an expensive meal as long as we feel the food (quantity and quality) is worth it. Since I hate seafood, all I had was the fish and chips, which I drowned in ketchup, and I thought mine was fine. I forget what DH had, but he has no desire to return there.
We don't like "gourmet" food, we prefer traditional American meals such as pot roast, steak, chicken, etc. DH likes good basic seafood, I hate all seafood, but I want to DH to have a nice dinner, and I can always find something to have even in a seafood restaurant. Oh yeah, neither of us like dining out at Italian restaurants, we prefer our own homemade Italian meals.
The next day, Saturday, we'll be doing the Spirit of Boston dinner cruise.
So...ok...if the UOH isn't that great, what other places would be fun for after the laser show?? We'll be taking a taxi from the Museum to wherever we end up for dinner, so distance necessarily doesn't matter. We've already been to "Cheers" and "The Hard Rock Cafe" several times, and would love to try someplace new.
