Unfortunate Merchandise Mistakes: "I Got Mugged!"

Well, I really don't need the money back...I live very close to DLR and go often. I really just want to see DLR fix the issue so others who save up for years get souvenirs that aren't a disappointment. I am keeping the mug as it is a great mug! I just hope to hear that it gets sorted so I can buy another one or two and the graphics remain intact!!

So far zero response from Disneyland. Also, no response even from the website saying thanks for the input, we will get back to you!

I think I might call this week.

I have contacted DLR's customer service via email about the mug. I sent them a link to this forum post. VIVA LA DISBOARDS!!!

I don't need a replacement for this one, I just want to see the problem get fixed. I would even be more than happy to purchase more mugs if this does get sorted out.

The reason I took the "Before" comparison photos right when I got home was to send to my Mom in Nebraska. She loves mugs too and my parents each have a blue Disneyland mug like my good old stand-by. I figured this would put MUG 2.0 into proper scale for them. I was planning on buying them each one of these mugs as a surprise, but I will wait until DLR gets these re-made correctly. (If they do)

The Red Trolley mug mentioned nothing about the dishwasher anywhere on it, and I assumed after hand scrubbing (not gently) and running my old Disneyland mug through the dishwasher too many times to count that the Red Trolley mug would be able to stand up to the same treatment...I guess that's where I got derailed!

I agree..Much of Disney's merchandise is in the 'poor quality crap' camp. I recently gave a friend the Bohemian styled wine glass and all the baubles just fell off immediately. I'm seeing this more and more..you can slap a Disney tag on it, but it is still being made quickly with little quality control by the lowest bidder..sorry but there are many items I pick up to buy and then put back down because of poor materials and workmanship. When I was young, Disney branded items may have cost more, but they were nicer quality..now they license to garbage in the Dollar Tree..like flimsy playing cards, thin unworkable jigsaw puzzles, crayons so poor they don't even color. IMO it cheapens the Disney brand.

Nunzia hit it spot on. And it pains me to say it as a cast member who loves his company, but they do have one huge corporate flaw: they treat the WDC like multiple small companies partnering up. They have their own corporate tree for each branch of the company ie: Disney Store, Disney Parks and Resorts, Disney Consumer Products, etc. A perfect example is not being able to return product you purchase at the parks at your local Disney Store or vice versa. Just odd company structuring! Anyways, my point I was trying to make is that the powers that be who run the parks have little to do with the decisions that get made by the people who run Disney Consumer Products, whom were responsible for this terrible fiasco! :sad1:
