unexpected pixie dust......

....so here we are in Kansas City with a winning football season for the first time in forever....we have a Wonder cruise scheduled for January 25, and I had a horrible, no good, very bad thought....



What if, for the first time in over 30 years, the Chiefs are in the Suberbowl and I have dragged my husband off on a cruise? Don't get me wrong, he's happy about going (his job is high stress and he's pretty happy to be going away anywhere with his family) and he wouldn't get upset, but I know he'd be disappointed to not be home for it, and I'd feel really guilty.

I frantically searched the NFL schedule, and pixie dust rained on me, because the final playoff game is scheduled the week before and the 'bowl is day after we get back home. Not that KC being there is anything remotely resembling a done thing....in fact, the Chiefs tend to implode in January, but while there is even a slight chance, I want to make sure my fab hub gets to enjoy every minute.

Sometimes it's good to be lucky, and sometimes it's lucky to be good......*g*

P.S. - Don't get me wrong, my husband is very happy to be going on the cruise. "Chiefs" and "Superbowl" are just two words we're not used to using in the same sentence, and we're a little verklumpt over it all.

I don't think ESPN televises the game, but it doesn't matter because through providence, I timed it just right!

I got news for you Brenda, KC IS going to the Superbowl dahlin!
And, second of all the Superbowl is always the same Sunday every single year....lol. Your funny, I love football too! and beleive you, me~ I wouldn't miss the Steelers at a Superbowl game in a NewYork minute... So, I see where your coming from, but in another breathe, you have to realize one thing- your already booked and going on a Disney cruise! Voila! Byeeeeeee!

I know how you feel.

In 1992 I was finishing my Master's degree and wouldn't you know it January Graduation was the exact same day and time as the SuperBowl when the Redskins were in them.

I wonder what happened at graduation?.

Heh......I do love to see a man with his priorities straight. It's all good.....we're going to have a wonderful time (TWO cabins, baby....kids in one, fab hub and me in the other), Greg is going to relax and read a little, drink a little, kick back a lot.....and the Chiefs, assuming last week's spanking by Denver was a momentary abberation, will have a great season.

lucky for me, there won't be a game to be shown that particular weekend....whew.

but what fun it will be when you and your husband get back home and get to say that you watched the game on the disney cruise w/a beverage of your choice ..

i had a business meeting in san diego when the devils were playing the final game of the stanley cup - and my family was with me - but what a special time it was - and they haven't forgotten when we got pizza hut room service and watch them win - though they were not home w/friends - it's even more memorable to spend the time cheering w/new found friends at a special location -

don't worry about any of the games - it'll make the wins even more memorable
