Hello!

We're considering doing the Undiscovered Future World tour at Epcot. I have heard that this tour includes VIP passes to an Illuminations viewing. Is this still the case? If so, do the passes need to be used for the same day that you took the tour?

Thanks! :goodvibes

The last time I took this tour, about a year or so ago, it did include the viewing area. And yes, it has to be the same day. If that interferes with your plans, don;pt worry too much, there are plenty of great areas all around the logoon. The area is in front of Italy, usually roped off for this and other groups.

Did you get a break for lunch? (I think I read in an older report that you did, but another report mentioned no break with a discounted lunch offer in China at the end of the tour...)

I am confused, I was excited to see this post, but when I spoke to someone at Disney they said that it does not include vip viewing for the show. Can anyone verify this? Thanks!

Interesting. We're going to do it anyway, so if you can wait until December, I'll let you know what happens!

Maybe they can't guarantee this perk since many of the special viewing areas can be booked for conventions and private dessert parties. They'd have to give first dibs to those events!!

That's funny Wazzo that's when we are there too!! Well I hope that the tour works out for you. I think that I might pass. If you do take the tour let us know what was included, and most importantly....Have lots of fun!!:woohoo:

I also wonder if they've been giving out an alternate lunch discount lately, since Nine Dragons is undergoing renovations!

We did this tour when it was first offered and were wildly underwhelmed by the "VIP viewing." It is a limited area that is apparently shared with other groups, so you still have to get there early to get a a good spot. Fortunately we did, and we still got one of the last fence spots available. Right before the show, we get tapped on the should by some people who said, "We're with the wedding party." We shrugged and said, "Okay, whatever," and ignored them. They tried again, apparently thinking we should give them our spaces. Uh no, not bloody well happening. Finally they went away. Not my idea of VIP viewing...no better than just getting our own spot elsewhere.

Good to know - we won't get our hopes up for VIP treatment!

Did you enjoy the tour??

Yes, the tour itself was fabulous! We actually plan to do it again someday to see how things have changed. We had a bit of "luck" too (although the people waiting probably didn't see it that way). Ellen's Energy Adventure was having a problem and was shut down, so we got to spend more time in there than usual with the lights on. It's a great tour for any Disneyphile...you will have a blast!

Thank you!! I'm excited! We did the KTTK tour and the Wildlife Discovery Excursion last time, so it's time to do Epcot! :goodvibes

it is a very highly underrated tour in my opinion. not one of the greatest (although compared to the wildlife discovery excursion, few are), but a really neat way to see some parts of epcot that most can't.

rather camera friendly too, even backstage while in the park perimeter.

without going into too many specifics, a highlight for me is located inside the seas pavilion lounge

I'll be sure to bring my camera! I didn't bother on the KTTK tour, so this is good to know. Thanks! :goodvibes

you can't take pictures. I'd love to know if they have relaxed those rules.

i've done most of the tours and i've had my dSLR with me every time so I know the rules.

- behind the seeds has no restrictions
- the magic behind our steam engines prohibits cameras while you pass by security gates, otherwise it's unrestricted
- undiscovered future world lets you take photos inside the corporate lounges/venues/whatever the room is at ellen.

I took this tour abour 2 or 3 years ago and loved it. They did let you take pictures and were very good about letting you know where you could and couldn't take them.

I do remember getting a ticket for VIP viewing and now that it was mentioned, I do believe that we got a lunch coupon or something.

I will be taking the tour again in July so hopefully they still have those perks (though not at Nine Dragons as someone pointed out.)
