Underwhelmed by Year of a Million Dreams

I did get to ride in the front of the boat on POTC...that was pretty big.
Also Space Mountain...and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...and oh yeah, I won a bench for the fireworks one night. All in all, that was pretty rewarding.

Sometimes I think our sense of entitlement overwhelms us. Perhaps we should just be thankful we are able to escape the real world for a few hours and indulge our fantasies, whether they be pirates or princesses.

I did not see any prize patrol during the time we were there (Dec. 10-14). Nor did I see any special ears or FPs or anyone who looked surprised by receiving such accolades. I, too, was probably overly sensitive to the promotion from reading too many forums. But you know what? I had a great time anyway. I was grateful to the nice cotton candy lady who sold me blue cotton candy (FINALLY!) at DD after being told in the parks that "We don't make it anymore!" (I had just had some in February so I guess it's seasonal).
That was enough of a prize for me!

Also, to the CM who let us out of the line for IASW and let us go right up to the fence for the parade which was just beginning. We had seen the parade the previous night as part of the Holiday Tour but were seated on the opposite side. We wanted to see it again but thought the crowds were just too heavy to be able to see much so we decided to just ride IASW instead. As we moved up the line, the CM opened up the gate and said "Would you like to see the parade?" SO, you see...I guess fortune smiled upon us after all~

Remember, it's the small things that count:cool1:

I witnessed the sweetest dream granting last night.

Our friends were eating at Taste Pilot's Grill while we watched Block Party Bash (which was fantastic). We joined them while they were finishing up. Next to them was a table set up with tablecloth, real plates and silverware. I remember reading that this was one of the dreams granted. All of a sudden a group of restaurant CMs came out with a birthday dessert and made an announcement that it was Samuel's birthday and we were all invited to join in song. Just about everyone in the inside of the restaurant started singing to Samuel. He looked around and had a big smile on his face.

The only other evidence of wish granting was a family of 3 wearing Dream FP. I didn't see any Dream Squad members or anything else.

In November, I only noticed 2 teens with Dream ears and nothing else.

We were at Disneyland from October 9-14th and we received and saw a lot of prizes handed out. Personally we received buttons, lanyards with pins, extra rides on some of the rides and the best was a free meal at the Rancho Mexican Restaurant. We missed out on the fast pass lanyards, apparently they were being handed out in the theater but we didn't go in for the movie we were just looking at all the memorabilia, darn!
Many other people were winners too. I guess we were just lucky enough to see it happen and all the ears!!

We just got back from 4 days in DL. Day 1 - We didn't see any winners. Day 2 - about 8 dream fastpasses and a dozen ears. Third day - 1 set of dream fastpasses. 4th day - 2 dream fastpasses. two dream ears. We never once saw the dreamsquad.
