Understanding the waitlist

I have an upcoming reservation, but was not able to get exactly what I wanted, so I waitlisted...how do I track a waitlist? How will I know when/if it becomes available? Will I get an e-mail? sorry for all the questions, but this is my first time...

It will show up in your Upcoming Vacations on the Member Site, and you should get a written confirmation. I always check upcoming vacations if I have a waitlist.

You could also call MS to see if it's come through.

I added a few last days to my upcoming trip. I couldn't get my two nighs in the same studio at BWV, so waitlisted to get the same studio. That was about two months ago. I had been able to get a preferred studio for Friday night but only a standard for Sat night. So waitlisted for a preferred on Sat night. I checked my vacation details on the DVC member site. When I got to just under 30 days, I saw that my waitlist had come through!! I figure I'll get the paper notification this week sometime.
I love being able to check the member site for stuff like that. So much easier than calling everyday.
