We are looking at going next Christmas prob arriving dec 19 staying until 26th at minimum ( maybe a couple more depending )
Looking at points charts that’s two different categories dream and choice maybe ?? How do the points work then is it just calculated daily? Or?
Is a week sun to sat ? Whichever day you arrive ? 6 nights ? 7 nights ?
Any advise thoughts would be great.
Ideally the “week” at our home resort but if we can get a couple nights at start of trip at another resort to try it out would be lovely
Thanks

Points are always calculated daily. Different seasons, categories, weekend, weekday, all are calculated daily.

Use the points per day. Dec 19, 20 21, 22 and 23 are DREAM Dec 24, 25, 26 are PREMIER.

The weekly rate is just for convenience and is for 7 consecutive nights all in the same point season.

If you are planning on going this December, you might be out of luck renting points. Many resorts have only a day here or a day there available. You might be able to luck into a full week at SSR, but you can forget about resorts that are highly decorated for Christmas like Grand Floridian, Copper Creek, Boulder Ridge, and Beach Club.

Not renting points. Thanks I’m a new member just bought into riviera but our Fl trip this year is prior to it’s opening so looking at next year. ( cash stay AKL in dec and Tampa split )

Book the entire trip at your home resort at 11 months out. Then at seven months out see what else you might be able to book for the few nights at the start. You might not find anything that you are interested in.

the points are calculated per day based on what dvc "season" they fall in.

When playing around with dates and point cost I always like to use the "cost calculator" on davids dvc rental site. You can play around with the dates and see how the points cost change, much easier to use than looking at the points charts and trying to figure it out. It also gives you an at a glance look at what all the resorts cost, so you can see how that might affect your point cost if you were able to change to a different room category or different resort.

Thank you .. so much info as a newbie
