Hi all, on transfers, here's a scenario I'm trying to understand
Membership 1 June UY (owner: myself only)
Membership 2 Dec UY (owner: myself only)
Membership 3 Dec UY (owner me + sibling)

Question:
1) If for some reason, I needed to pool points from two use years (two memberships) to make a continuous reservation,
- would a TRANSFER from Membership 1 to Membership 2 utilize the 1 transfer per year rule?

2) If we plan a big family trip, would transferring from Membership 2 to Membership 3 utilize the 1 transfer per year rule?

Or since I am owner in all 3, will the points be moved without utilizing the transfer allowance?

Also, am I correct in my understanding that separate use years = separate memberships and if names on the deeds do not perfectly match = separate memberships?

This is something that is CM dependent. They may allow multiple transfers since it’s just to yourself but technically they only have to allow one transfer and that includes sending/receiving as in if you send out points from a membership it is not eligible to receive points for the remainder of the UY. For this reason people have recommended 2 UY previously on the podcast.

Your understanding is correct. Different owners between contracts = new membership. Different use year = new membership.

As long as you are an owner on all the accounts, they are currently allowing you to transfer more tha. Once.

That rule can be changed at anytime, but I have transferred points from a membership which just DH and I own to the one that my adult children are on as well. It did not count as my official one.

How do you know if a transfer is being counted as the official one? Do you just ask when doing it?

I know because I have transferred points between my own memberships and also transferred out to another member.

When I wanted to do it, they double checked that what they saw for the transfer was to myself before completing the transfer to the other member.

Like shared, they can change this rule at anytime so I would not buy assuming they will continue to let owners move points between memberships an unlimited number of times.
