Understanding 11 and 7 month windows

Newbie here, considering buying DVC (actually have an offer in on a resale contract and waiting to hear back from seller)... Anyway...

Trying to understand the 11 and 7 month windows. Do these windows open to the day, the way ADRs do? Or at the beginning of each month?

For instance, if I want a room August 15,2010, does my 11 month window open September 1st 2009 or September 15th 2009? And does that work the same for the 7 month window?

Your 11 month window would open up on Sept. 15th 2009 at your home resort. Same thing goes for 7 months at other dvc resorts. hope that helps. remember member services opens at 9am and i strongly suggest calling at 9am if you can!

And, just remember, that those 11 and 7 month windows are not affected in any way by the UY that you have.

I have a 7 month question. Our reservation date begins 09/30/10, when does the 7 month period begin, February 28, 2010? If yes, does that mean reservations for September 28, 29 and 30 all open up on the same day (unless it's a leap year)?

I believe you have to wait until 3/1/10.

So if I wanted to book a stay beginning on April 21, 2010 for 7 nights, can I book the entire vacation on October 21, 2009, or do I have to wait until the whole vacation is within the 7 month window (which would mean booking on October 28, 2009)?

We own at OKW, and never have a problem booking early or late, so have not had to worry about this before. We want to do AKL in April with extended family, and I want to be sure I have all the right info!

pretty sure 7 mos starts on september 21, 2009. yes you can book up to 7 days after that.

(if your stay was for 10 days, you would have to wait till april 24 to book the whole thing in one call.)

Oops....can't count!! But thanks for the info; that's exactly what I needed to know.
