WHat did you wear under your dress? I know it's kind of a personal question  but I need some help. I have not gotten my dress yet but I am going strapless. My question is did/would you wear a corset or just a strapless bra? When I tried on dresses at David's Bridal they had me wear a corset, when I tried dresses on at another I just wore the bra I had on. I am a curvy girl and the corset made me feel as though it smoothed out my upper body. I'm just a little confused :)

To Corset or not to corset, that is the question. :lmao:

Thanks!

I guess it really depends on the dress you get. Corsets are nice though to hold everything in lol I tried on a few dresses with one on and liked it but opted not to wear one for the wedding. I actually did not wear a bra under mine. I am very small on top and my dress already had cups sewn in it. Mine was a halter so it worked out great now having to worry about one. For the bottom area, I wore a simple white thong and my hose.

i'm opting for spanx and a regular strapless. it was the most comfortable and i'll wear both again in the future!!

the longer full torso wouldn't look right with my dress either. :wizard:

I would wait to decide this until I actually had the dress—it definitely depends on the dress you get. Some have boning and/or cups sewn in, so you don't need to wear anything underneath (upstairs, anyway :teeth: ). If your dress does require some sort of foundation garment, it's best to try on different kinds under the dress first. If the fabric is thin or clingy, a heavily boned corset might show through. On the other hand, a smoother, Spanx-style shaper might not provide enough support or could create bulges at the top or bottom (I don't care what Spanx says, that muffin has gotta come out somewhere! :cutie: )

Hahaha Lurkyloo!

I agree that it depends on the dress. When I went in to pick up my dress from alterations I tried on a few different options that they had for sale @ David's and settled on this: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product...s-Longline-Bra-8704_Accessories-Lingerie-Bras I'm wearing a spanx type bottom under it. I was just gonna stick with my own strapless bra but the way this bra smoothed everything out was amazing. I love it!

Spanx...and I will probably need to have cups sewn into my dress. It has a deep sweetheart in the front and a low back, so I'm afraid even a long line strapless bra might show.

My dress is strapless and it comes down low in the back. When I first tried on the dress, I brought a strapless bra with me and you were able to see the top of it in the back. The alterations lady suggested I go to Lady Grace and find a bra with a low back. I actually found one that is SUPER comfortable. It's strapless, but it has a torso on it (not exactly like a corset because I can breathe!). I don't know when I will ever wear it again, but it will definitely keep me comfy on the big day. HTH! :goodvibes

I bought the bridal corset by Le Mystere, http://www.lemystere.com/collections/details.asp?collection_id=10&PageIndex=1. It was pricey but very comfortable and very smooth. I have a strapless dress that will be pretty tight but my dress shop said to get a corset anyways. I have several strapless bras that I wear and I find that after a few hours they are killing me and digging into my ribs and I feel like things are not longer staying where they need to. If you've never worn a strapless and are considering it I'd try wearing it around first to see how it feels.

I just got regular matching panties. My dress is a regular A line so you won't see my thighs...

I planned on wearing a long line type of strapless bra from Lady Grace. When my dress came in it didn't look good. The dress had lots of boning and I was able to go without and my dress fit perfect! Hard to believe because I'm not small on top :rotfl2:

I ordered a seamless corset (Felina Essentials Seamless Hidden Wire Bustier 7643) and love it! It has a low back and smooths everything out. ;)

Sizes run a little small so I would order a cup size bigger :thumbsup2

My dress had a built in corset so the girl recommended that I wear nothing under. I tried it on with a strapless bra but the corset in the dress was very supportive so I ended up not wearing anything like the girl at the store initially said. I was very comfortable on my wedding day. ;) And I'm not a small girl anywhere (espcially on top) so my mom and I were shocked that I didn't need anything underneathe.

I'm wearing a longline bra. Like a strapless bra that is long and has hooks all down the back. Keeps me sucked in, is comfortable, and comes down low in the back so it does not show.
