Undercover Tourist ticket question

I ordered 10-day non-expiring passes from UT and received paper tickets. The only tickets I've had before are the plastic, credit-card type passes. Does anyone know if these are the actual tickets or if they're vouchers that you have to activate/redeem once you get to the park? If you use the paper ticket, how does that work with the scanners? Are they handled differently? Much as I appreciate saving a good amount of money, I really don't like the idea of paper tickets :confused3

Those are the tickets - I had the exact same question when I ordered mine for last Feb! :goodvibes

The tickets are not paper. They're composed of a Tyvek-type of material - very durable. In fact, many CMs that work in Guest Services report that they replace more of the "plastic credit card" types of keys (they warp and break). Your "paper" tickets work in the turnstiles and FastPass machines just the same as the plastic ones do.

Awesome--thanks. :thumbsup2 I haven't actually taken the tickets out of the plastic cover they came in, so I was just going by how they looked :)

They're real tickets. We bought them for our trip last year and they worked fine. We actually ended up upgrading what I bought and WDW gave us the same type tickets.

If you bought park tickets along with your room (I forget what that type of ticket is called) the resort would key the passes onto your room card and that's plastic.

I think last time we ordered the tickets direct from Disney and they were plastic, and the ones you buy at the Disney stores are plastic. I just didn't realize there were other types, and it freaked me out
