Undercover Tourist- Situation Cleared UP! Thumbs UP!!

I had a great experince with UCT. I orderd tickets on a Monday and went back and ordered more on a Wednesday to be shipped to a different address and they called me to comfirm I ordered them since it was with the same credit card. I was surprised they would even bother to do that. At least they were looking out for their customer and making sure it wasn't a stolen credit card. I appreciated it since it was a $1500 charge I was making.

Just to add to the positive experiences with Undercover Tourist. We've used them twice and been very satisfied; tickets have arrived ahead of schedule and worked perfectly.

FYI - I used the neat little plastic covered sheet my recent order came in to tape my other tickets onto, then slapped them onto my scanner and copied for safekeeping. Came in very handy! (We have several older one day tickets etc.)

I slightly modified the title of the thread.

I purchased tickets two years ago and had NO problems, if we go next Dec I will be purchasing tickets with them again..:thumbsup2

Hello everyone,
Just as Ian from Undercover Tourist said, this has been straightened out.

For those of you who have wondered why I have not responded sooner, I was in Disney World and did not have access to the Dis.

Thank you to Ian and Knox for your help. This was a difficult situation to say the least. As I told Ian, three different cast members told my sister that UCT sold invalid tickets.

The problem was, as it seems, that no CM's outside of the parks are aware that UCT is a valid ticket vendor. I have suggested to Ian that he contact Disney and advise them of the same.

Thanks again. I plan to use UCT in the next few months for my own Disney ticket purchase!!!!!!!!!

I have been trying to reach someone at UC's offices, but they conveniently close at 4pm, and there is no other way to reach them.

Dear Kim&Chris,

We will take care of this.

It's wonderful to see a company step up to the plate and make things right.
The fact that they waited until the issue was posted on the DIS, however, doesn't really thrill me.

If Undercover Tourist was really concerned about making things right, they would have done so before it became bad PR.

Just sayin'.

The OP posted that they tried the upgrade on 11/30. On 12/1 UT posted that they would take care of the problem. Who says that they waited until it was posted on the DIS. If they did wait it wasn't very long.

Hmmm.... you're right. I was under the impression that "Kim&Chris" had waited more than that to resolve the issue with UCT.

I need to brush up on my reading comprehension. My apologies to all involved.

I knew that you didn't have all of the facts. Maybe the Mouse is working you too hard. ;)

We have gone with UT twice before and had great service. I ordered tickets online yesterday at 11:00 a.m. my time in Alberta, Canada. I had them sent
2 day express. So I thought Thursday, as they should go out today. To my excitement they showed up today at noon. 24 hours later!!!!!! WOW! Awesome service!

I've been contemplating who to use as a ticket vendor for my new park hoppers when I buy them and having read through this entire post UCT has won me over.

I think they handled all their posts in the most efficient and polite manner and never took offense to any posts made, instead just stated what happened and suggested the better locations to upgrade their tickets.

I was just steered to this thread and maybe someone here can answer a question for me. On 11/9 before entering the park(Epcot) I went to exchanged 2 unused UT 10 day non exp. hop tickets w/6 pluses for basic annual passes. One was purchased at the old price of $444.95 one at the new price of $491.95 I was told that they were each worth $411 towards the exchange. When I questioned this amount I was told that they must be old tickets or promo tickets I showed him my receipt but was still only offered $411 towards the annual pass. Was this correct?:confused3

If the tickets you wanted to upgrade were completely unused, you would only be credited for whatever Disney deems the wholesale value to be -- apparently that was $411.

If you had simply used one day on each ticket first, Disney would have credited you for the current gate price of the ticket! This is a very important tip for maximizing upgrades on discounted tickets purchased from AAA, ticket vendors, etc.

Too bad you weren't aware of that trick -- it would have saved you some money. (I do explain it on my site, BTW.)

I thought I knew all the tricks - thanks to your site ;) , but I must admit I missed this. After getting to Orlando, I was going straight to DTD to upgrade my UCT 8 day Park Hopper to an Annual Pass, because I was originally going to us the AP rate for a room. (unfortunately, that trip got cancelled) BUT, I need to use one day first for maximum value, which means I wouldn't have the AP yet and it could null and void my AP resort rate, right? :confused3

Instead of heading strait to DTD when you get there head to the nearest park, enter the park using your ticket and then upgrade it to an AP. Head right back out and go check into your hotel with your AP in hand.

Yeah . . . but it would have been much easier to stop by DTD, upgrade pass, check into resort, unpack, relax, then go to the parks. But what do I know. ;)

You don't have to stay in the park, just enter the park and then leave. The ticket doesn't care how long you stayed, just that it has been used at least once.

Unless there is a huge line to enter the park or you wanted to go to DTD for another reason, I don't see much difference between entering the park or going to DTD.

Mary-Thank you so much for your response. I thought that I had read up on everything I could about upgrading my ticket but I must have missed that one. While I was a little shocked at the time at the additional cost to upgrade I still think that I am far ahead with my AP and DDE savings.
I cannot thank you enough for your website and I love reading your newsletter every month.:)

I tried to upgrade a 10 day no expiration hopper I bought from UT to an Annual Pass at DTD. The cast member said it was an international broker ticket; only to be sold out of the US and was not upgradeable.

I'm going to try again tomorrow at one of the parks and see what happens. Hopefully it will work as I'm only here until Saturday and I really want the Annual Pass for DD.
