Undercover Tourist question

Purchasing WDW tickets for the first time ever. We are purchasing 4 day base, with the bonus day, so 5 days. This trip is in July 2019. We plan to use 4 days prior to a cruise, then the last day of the tickets 7 days later.

As there anything I am missing, any issues I might have? We go to DL all the time but have AP's so purchasing tickets is kind of new to me.

You’ll be fine because that ticket will be valid for a total of 14 days so your 5th park day fits into that timeframe.

I would just advise to order from Undercover Tourist with ample time before your trip. We've had it take as long as a couple weeks to receive them in the mail.

@mommy2allyandaveri ~ purchase your etickets now (expire 12/31/19) so that your 5-day tickets will be valid for the 14-day timespan that you need.

Do not purchase plastic tickets because they expire in February 2019.

I would just advise to order from Undercover Tourist with ample time before your trip. We've had it take as long as a couple weeks to receive them in the mail.

Or plan to order e-tickets as you will get those within 24 hours. You can always convert e-tickets to plastic at the park. If you prefer them.

Just an FYI: The e-tickets I purchased last night from Undercover Tourist have an expiration date of Jan. 15, 2020. The site said Dec. 31, 2019, but when I added them to MDE, it's showing Jan. 15, 2020.

Thank you! A few other posters have reported the same. UT Chat staff are giving out the 12/31/19 expiration - perhaps as a precaution.

Well shoot. Now I'm not sure what to do. I didn't want to do eticket because those are non-refundable and the mailed tickets are refundable. I don't foresee having to cancel but I try to avoid non-refundable purchases. I am getting trip insurance, are theme park tickets generally included in that?

I do want to order prior to the ticket increase.

If your trip is in July 2019 and you plan to order in the next week or two before the price increase, you will get the mailed tickets in plenty of time. No need to do e-ticket.

OP, you do not want to order plastic tickets that expire in February 2019.

Order etickets now or wait until you are closer to your trip and you will have to pay an additional cost to have 5-day tickets be ‘Flexible’ to span your usage window.

I've ordered from UT frequently, and have had similar priorities, prefer plastic tickets for (mostly) refundable option, need tickets good for 10 months from now (to beat price hikes), don't want to have to link tickets to check expiration and then be non-refundable, etc. In these cases, I've found it easiest to just call and speak to someone at UT and explain everything. They're super nice and have always been able to get me what I'm looking for. Good luck and have a wonderful trip.

The mailed tickets that UT has need to be used by February 28, 2019. So they won't work for the OP.

"MAILED TICKET: Go straight to the gate and onto the rides. No will call exchange necessary. This is the exact same ticket you would receive at the gate. You may link this ticket to My Disney Experience for FastPass+ reservations and add it to your MagicBand. If your first date of use for this ticket(s) is after February 28, 2019, please select E-Tickets above and read the policies for that ticket."

With outside trip insurance, and nonrefundable costs that you tell them about are covered.

However as far as I know even nonrefundable and expiring Disney tickets can still be used *towards* higher-priced tickets in the future, so for me I wouldn’t feel comfortable including them. I would still be able to use them down the road, even if I didn’t use them now.

This is correct. You'd just need to pay the difference.
