I went online (thru Mousesaver's Link) to purchase our park tkts, and before checkout, decided to click on the car rental button to see what it was about. I've been pricing car rentals, but haven't reserved yet. As it turned out, the car rental price on UT was quite a bit lower than what I've been able to find on my own.

The car rental is sold only as part of a package when purchasing tkts. I selected Alamo pickup/rtn at WDW's CCC. Does anyone have experience with the car rental thru UT?

I've decided to hold off on purchasing our park tkts until I find out more about this. Anyone with experience concerning Alamo rental thru UT?

Thank you.

I did this exact thing in October 2014. Used Mousesaver link as well. I had no problems at all with the rental car booking. After purchasing, you will get an Alamo reservation number from UCT. To ease my mind (since it was also the first time I had done it), I went onto the Alamo website and confirmed the reservation. I suggest you could do the same, for peace of mind. I picked my car up at MCO, but did not have any issues. I had exactly the same fear as you, but I took the chance and it worked perfectly. I hope you have a great trip!

I went ahead & booked our van thru UT this morning when I purchased park tkts. I received an email confirmation from UT with details & a resv #. However, it doesn't show up on the Alamo website. So I just called UT and was told that it won't show up at Alamo online, because their 2 systems don't "talk" to each other that way.

I've always rented our vehicles directly from the companies, so I don't know if this common practice when renting from another party, or not. I'm concerned, especially if you were able to see your resv online at Alamo, but now I can't.

This is not the 1st time I've dealt with UT, but it is the 1st time I've done a car rental thru them. I saved several hundreds of $'s for our 21 day rental by going thru UT. They say it's fully refundable if canceled more than 1 day out from the rental.

Any one else have experience with this?

I find it strange that you could not confirm your reservation with the Alamo website, because I definitely did this. I can understand UT saying their systems don't "talk to each other", but there must be a reservation made for you with Alamo . Have you tried calling Alamo directly and confirming the reservation that way, instead of using the website?

I just checked though my old emails from my trip. I received an email from UT about the Alamo car rental. It has an Alamo confirmation number in the email. One thing to check (I remember this problem when I tried). In the email the Alamo confirmation number is 9 numbers followed by letters COUNT. I assume the COUNT stands for "care of undercover tourist". Don't include the letters when you try confirming your reservation on the Alamo website. Hopefully that will work for you, since it did for me.

Terra Nova guy, thanks so much for this info. I was going to call Alamo tomorrow, because as you said, they would have to have the reservation in their system somewhere. I thought I would give it a day to make sure. When I saw your post, the "count" part made sense. I went to Alamo, tried just the numbers, and there was our resv! I don't understand why the lady at UT couldn't have just told me that.

I think we got a pretty good deal. Not only were our tkts the cheapest price around, but we saved a lot on our car rental. We have a minivan for 21 days, for a total price of $927, picking up & returning at WDW's CCC. The price thru Alamo, with every code I could find, was $1847.

Thanks again for putting my mind at ease tonight.
