We leave for Disney in just 10 days and soemone told me that to get in free at Disney you had to be under 2. I thought you had to be under 3. My DS will be 3 about 3 weeks after our visit and I thought he was free. Am I correct? And is he free at both the parks and the hotels and at the meals (we are on meal plan). I am so worked up about this, but I was sure when I made arrangements I was correct. Any help? Also, how do they verify if the child is te correct age? Obviously my DS is very close to 3.

Your child under 3 will not receive their own free meal, but will be welcome to share from your plate, and is free at the buffets.

If you want them to have their own meal (any place besides a buffet) you will need to pay for it.

Which makes sense, really - they are free at the resorts, and get into the parks for free - the dining is attached to the paid tickets.

Thank you thatnk you thank you! That is all what I thought. I knew about the eat off my plate at sit down, own plate at buffet. I thought all I had to buy for him was the plane ticket.

Anyone have advice on how they enforce the under three at the parks? Does he get any sort of a card when we check into POP? I have a Magic Express ticket with his name on it, so I was jsut wondering if he ever got anything else. I would assume this might work to prove his age?

Does anyone know how it works for an under 3 at CRT for breakfast? I read that it is pre-plated, but all you care to eat?

You won't need anything to prove his age. They won't ask unless he looks way older than 3, and even then they probably wouldn't. They operate on the honor system mainly. If it makes you feel better, you can bring a copy of his birth certificate (you may want this for the airline, anyway, although if you bought him a seat, you probably wouldn't need it.)

CRT is served family style. They pre plate large amounts of food onto serving plates and put them in the middle of your table. Your under 3 child should be in your ADR count so he/she will have a place setting. You will simply serve him/her like everyone else at the table.

He really doesn't look old for his age. He is 40 inches tall and is 32 pounds, so right about average I think. Perhaps a little bi tall. He has a great vocabulary and speaks very clearly though. He is very shy and probbaly won't talk to anyone who speaks to him. He knows he is two, often times when people ask he holds up his thumb and pointer finger. I am glad to hear that they won't not let him if I tell them he is two. I don't want to carry around his birth certificate if I don't have to, I want the least amount to hall as possible.

Can't really go by what the kid's say anyway. LOL From the time my DD was about 2 1/2 we were teaching her to say she was 3...figured by the time she really was 3, she'd get it right. She would tell people she was 1, 2, 3, 4, or 62 if they asked. LOL

You shouldn't have any problem at the parks. I was a bit nervous about my son (he was just a few days shy of three during our last trip). I've heard people mention that their child was questioned when they went through the gate and I didn't want to hassle or argue whether he looked little enough. However, we've gone the past two years and they've never even asked for my older daughter's ticket (she was 4 and 5). DH always put his ticket through and went through with DS in his stroller. Then I put through two tickets and went through with DD in her stroller. A few times the CM was confused when I ran the second ticket because they assumed DD didn't need one.

LOL, when we went in May, my 2yr, 11month old DS kept telling CM's that he was 4 :lmao: (his brother's age)! He's a small fry, though, so it was pretty obvious that he was telling a story! No one gave us any problems about DS's age, and most of the sit down restaurants went ahead and gave him a chocolate milk like his brother to drink and his own dessert (usually an ice cream sundae) without charging us. Have fun on your trip! --Katie
