I've been to WDW several times and never had the pleasure of going chef mickey's, since my kids are very picky eaters, I think they will enjoy breakfast more, but I want to know which has better food......breakfast or dinner?
:confused3 :confused3

We LOVE the breakfast there! My children have asked to do it 2x on our next trip!:lmao: We will have to see about that!

Happy Planning!

After many wonderful breakfasts there we tried dinner for the first time last year. We were not expecting much , but were pleasantly suprised. On our upcoming trip we are staying a few days at the Contemporary and will do both meals there.

I should add my DS is picky but they were able to make him a huge bowl of plain pasta for dinner.

This will be our 1st time eating at Chef Mickey's for dinner. I have heard nothing but good things about their dinner buffet. We have always done breakfast and have never been disappointed.

We had dinner at Chef Mickey's once and weren't thrilled. I wasn't expecting fine dining and the food was ok, but it just wasn't my favorite.

We have been four times in three years for breakfast and only had a poor experience with the food once. That was during a late breakfast seating and the food wasn't very fresh.

Breakfast :thumbsup2

Dinner

Have returned every year for breakfast and will continue.

Will not do Dinner again

I've eaten at both dinner and breakfast. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but it was very good. And dinner was pretty good too! It is standard Buffet fare, so don't expect California Grill! But everything was good to very good and you can't beat having the "Big Cheese" coming by your table!

I agree with OKWmom. We don't know the OP's tastes or preferences. If you are not very adventurous and prefer more regular American food, then you'll probably like Chef Mickey's dinner as they have nice carved meats, salad bar, peel and eat shrimp, rolls and breads, pizza, plain pasta (I think). The desserts although not grandly displayed include ice cream, assorted candies for the ice cream, brownies, cookies, fresh fruits (whole fruits like oranges and apples). It was quite good and the food was all nice and fresh when we went.

On the other hand, when I dine out, I prefer to eat foods that are not just like things I'd make at home. I make roasted meats and steamed shrimp, so the food didn't thrill me, but it was good for what it was.

If you've got a picky eater child, who prefers fairly typical American foods, they will probably be able to find something they like. It's my opinion that Chef Mickey's is geared towards kids' tastes - as opposed to Flying Fish or V&A's which is geared towards more adult tastes.

I really like the breakfast but right now dinner is another story. We had dinnner there our last trip and I'm not sure if or when we will go back for it. They had justed cleaned the floor where you check in and the smell gave me headache. I became extremely nauseated and and it was all I could do eat my first bite of food. Needless to say it turned out to be a very expensive meal for my mom and I considering she didn't even finish what she had on her plate. The boat ride back to Wilderness Lodge wasn't real fun either. Just thinking back about the whole experience makes me cringe.

We ALWAYS go to CM's for dinner our first night and also our last night. It is my family's favorite place to eat. Yes, the buffet is more on the simple side, but with 3 picky kids and an even pickier DH it fits us perfect!
They have the best mashed potatoes out of any where in the "World", and their corn and chicken chowder is pretty tasty as well.
My dd and I are not big breakfast eaters so we have only been there a couple of times for breakfast. That said it was normal eggs, bacon, etc. nothing all that great.
So, hopefully we have given you some great options to make your decision...good luck!:)

We are doing dinner this time, but have always gone for breakfast. There's a bunch of us going and dinner won. So, we'll see.:)

We love the breakfast, but turn it into a brunch. Our big plan is to make an ADR on early entry day into MK as late as possible. We get to MK for EE, ride the rides with no lines until about 30 min. before our ADR at 11:30ish and head over to CM. We do have a small snack in the room before heading to the MK to tide us over.

Last time we were one of the last 7 tables in the restaurant. the characters keep coming over, we barely had a chance to eat before another one would stop back over. We had several visits with each character. You might be worried about lack of food, but there was plenty, they refilled anything that got low with fresh food right up to the end.

This is what I think of dinner there now. :scared1: We've always done dinner there for several years but it has went down hill. I'm sorry but if I get the cubed ham in my salad I want to be able to chew it. I want more ham than fat on a piece of ham.
