I was looking into a suite at DLH which has a queen in the bdrm w/ a queen sofa bed in the LR, or 2 queens in the bdrm w/ the queen sofa in the LR.

It makes more sense to put the kids in the bedroom I think, depending on where the bathroom is, since typically DH & I are up later. Which would leave us w/ the yucky sofa bed.

Anyone know if there's something out there for bad hotel mattresses? Like an inflatable pad or something? Tried searching but came up w/ nothing......

The other option is to get the two queens in the bedroom, but the kids to bed early in one bed and then stay up and enjoy having the living room, then go quietly to bed in the same room with the kids. I would prefer that over a sofa bed.......

I work in the furniture business, there is 'no' such thing as a comfy sofa sleeper. (the mattress's are too thin):sad2:

Holy Heck, there's ad on TV for my work.(I just can't get away):sad1:

I seriously doubt it would help but I usually take the mattress off the couch and put it on the floor. Then that horrible bar won't hit you in the back. I put the kids on that mattress they don't feel it as much they're younger.

My in-laws use an airbed bed when staying in hotels. It makes a good option over the sofa sleeper.

samkj - that's sort of what I was leaning towards. We have a twin but it's very tall.....I wonder if they make a thin queen size out there somewhere...:confused3

The one my in-laws use is about the thickness of a regular mattress when inflated. I don't think you can find a thinner one that would still be comfortable.

You could try getting an "egg crate" foam deal. That helps and it's cheap. Try any walmart/target. I still vote for putting the kids on the sofa....

I beleive that most of the 1 BR suites at DLH have a full bath off the BR and and powder room off the living room. As a result, I am not sure that you need to give up the bedroom so that the kids can be close to the bathroom in the middle of the night.

Yes, you and DH might be more comfy lounging on the sofa watching TV than lounging on a bed, but to me, this is more than outwieghed by being comfy sleeping on a bed vs. a sofabed.

Also, you can request a rollaway, which should fit easily in the living room. It may help the comfort level of the sofa bed if only one child in sleeping onit.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

I would do the suite. Never the sleeper sofa, you wont sleep well and DLR requires good sleep when you do,
