I was just checking out air prices and found Delta,RT from Hartford,Ct for $98!!!!!!!!!!With taxes etc...it was $116.50 PER PERSON!!!!!!For a family of 4 that works out to $466.00 RT from Hartford to Orlando.

I SOOOOOOO wish I could go,but maybe someone else can use it.

There seems to be great airfare to Orlando from all over the Northeast right now. Southwest from Manchester, NH is $115 Rt too. It just KILLS me that we can't squeeze in a trip!! :( Hopefully, there are some people out there who can take advantage, though!!

You won't believe this (I didn't either when we got it - I was sure that we'd be stranded on some deserted island somewhere), but we got $98 roundtrip per person from Omaha (Midwest) to Orlando last year (August).

Wild what kinds of deals come out of the woodwork.

Last year we got RT from Providence to Tampa(only about a 50 minute drive to Orlando) for 88.00 with tax pp!!!This year I got 68.00 each way from Hartford to Orlando-both with Southwest. The good thing about Southwest is if they offer a lower price than what I paid they will give you the difference towards another flight!NO other airline does that-they don't even charge change fees like other airlines!

pat fan...What dates (month) were you looking at for those BDL-MCO fares? may I ask?

August....

I keep putting in different dates(Aug.7-14 this time)and working up the price for everything(air, car, room.tickets)just to tease myself :p .There is no way we can go until next year at the earliest, maybe even the year after that.Still,it's fun looking.

I got 5-day Hopper Plus,8 nights @ ASMusic,National car with unlimited miles and the RT air from Delta all for $2551.00.Sigh....fun looking.

I remember last year before Sept that one of the airlines had air from Cleavland to Tampa for $59! I was in tears because I could not find anyone to go with me. We only had 1 vehicle at the time, so I had to find someone to go with and drive. I'm ready this year.....we've got 3 vehicles! LOL

Northwest gives vouchers if an airfare goes down and the same exact flights are available. I just received a voucher for this change 2 weeks ago. I also thought I read about other airlines doing this.

Because the airlines give vouchers for a sale or a price drop, why don't we buy tickets for the dates we want and then wait til the price drops, get vouchers and use them the next time we go? I've never "done" vouchers and I know sometimes the airfares are really high, but it seems with vouchers you just pre-pay another flight. Am I way off base????

Last December we got $52 round trip from Kansas City to Tampa on Southwest. I couldn't believe my luck!

Southwest airlines is now offering a $39 one way fare from Nashville to MCO. That is a terrific deal!!!! I told my husband, we may have to make a second trip, just to take advantage :Pinkbounc

I am just starting my search for airfares. Where did you find this incredible price?

Personally, I go to the specific airline's webpage. I have also signed up for Delta and SW's emails. SWA comes out on Tuesdays with their specials for the week, Delta comes out once a week also, but, I forgot what day.
Hope this helps.

I got that particular fare from yahoo travel.I checked today and it's up a little, but still less than $200 pp(I think it was around $150)

I just checked for our dates in December and can't see anything less than $215 on Delta. I got our tickets months ago and keep checking back to see if the fares go down so I can get a credit. They haven't gone below the amount we paid (around $170).

I guess it just depends on the dates you're going.

I check all the major websites...expedia, travelocity, orbitz, and the individual airlines themselves.
We are going in oct and i have been closely watching airfare from Houston to Orlando. It seem to always be around $200.00. One day last week, Expedia had roundtrip for $140.00 a person. I booked it and it was gone the next day.

I just booked $140 round trip from Kansas City to MCO. That's a great price so I couldn't resist squeezing in an extra trip. :bounce: :bounce:

We bought our tickets the end of July last year for our trip in December and paid $75 including tax RT from Hartford to MCO. Our family of four total was $300! This was on Southwest also, direct flights both ways. I am hoping they drop again this year, we are waiting to get our tickets for Dec just in case. And yes, we did buy them prior to 9/11.

I just got an awesome deal last night on Southwest for Thanksgiving week-$108 r/t from Detroit to Orlando. For our family of five the total was $662 with all taxes and fees. That is less than half of what we paid last year for only 4 people. Yippee!:bounce:

why don't we buy tickets for the dates we want and then wait til the price drops, get vouchers and use them the next time we go?

I always wait until I get the fare that I want to book. In the past, my vouchers have always expired before I had the chance to use them. Plus, I could always find a cheaper flight on a different airline. Also, usually you can't apply vouchers to the low fares that you sometimes find on the Internet. You usually have to book over the phone, and sometimes those prices are higher. It probably varies with the airline, but that has been my experience (primarily with Delta). Personally, I'd rather save the money upfront and not risk losing any money with vouchers.

Golter- Have you signed up for Travelocity's Fare Watcher? Because of Fare Watcher and The DIS, I have gotten RT tickets from IAH to MCO for $99 last Christmas on Delta and $97 this July 4th on US Airways.
