I’m kind of bummed right now. I ran across an old thread on here, and I cant believe how hateful and homophobic some people can be. I thought a Disney website MIGHT be one of the places where people could suspend their personal hatred and just accept people for what they are. I guess I was wrong. I find it funny that people will come to this site, and spew their views when this site wouldn’t even be here if it wasn’t for a Gay man. Someone had the nerve to say that Gay people are Gay because its the popular thing to be right now??!!!! Its not a Trend people, being gay isn’t a fad like Crocs, Skinny Jeans on men, or Obnoxiously large sunglasses. Being Homophobic is about the most UN-Disney thing you can be. I wish all the Homophobic people on this site would leave, go join a KKK forum or some other hate monger website. I’m so sick and tired of close minded morons thinking that their chosen lifestyle is the only lifestyle that is right. The ONE good thing though if saw in that Thread that I didn’t think of before, Every dollar these hate mongers spend On Disney parks, and Disney movies and Souvenirs goes to support a company that PROUDLY supports Same Sex Benefits !! So in a way if they want to come to Disney, they support Gay people whether they want to or not !! SO THERE HATE MONGERS !!! And for the Record, I am Straight. Not by Choice, it was the way i was made by God, he didn’t give me a say in the matter, just like he doesn’t give Gay people a choice either. WE ARE WHAT WE ARE BECAUSE GOD WANTS US THAT WAY. I’m really sorry for the rant, but it really made me sad to see such filth on a Disney website. Walt would be ashamed... :sad2:

Hey you are pulling a Pete!

That's why you need to avoid the comunity board! You should check out the threads just before and after the election!

The podcast forum is pretty much immune to such bickering. That's why we are special.

I have to say the Podcast forum is one of my favourites as it's just so accepting.

Homophobia makes me sick, I even got bullied for not being homophobic at school :scared1: and at that sort of age these views come from the parents, I will certainly bring my kids (if we are lucky enough to have them) up to be accepting and non-judgemental.

Rest assured anyone trying to pull that carp on these boards will be beaten into submision! - prob with cake too :rotfl: although most of these guys would actually enjoy that ;)

Seriously this is the best place to be (at least when you can't be at WDW)

I rarely venture to the CB anymore. Every now and then, i'll poke my head in there to see if there's anything interesting, but I usually come out of there feeling like I need to shower...:rotfl:

I like our forum here. Everyone's pretty accepting of everything...unless you prefer pie over cake. Them's fightin' words...:lmao:

Brandie, you should be more tolerant of pie. There's always room for pie........especially banana creme pie!

I am glad this has turned into a happy thread!
I'll get on board with the cheesecake.......only I want mine fried.:lovestruc

I am sorry you saw something like that, but unfortunately, it still happens. There are still people who are prejudice against gays, blacks, muslims, obese people, etc. It's the sad part of humanity.

However, life is all what you make of it. Just because there's one or two people acting this way on a message board site doesn't make it a reflection of the Walt Disney Company. They had nothing to do with their posting such thoughts.

Let's move onto other things...like (hmm, cake is already taken)...brownies!!! :)

Now...just to be clear...I don't like store bought cake. That crap some of the grocery stores put out is naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasty. But nothing beats a real honest to goodness cake, homemade, and iced in REAL buttercream, not that shortening and sugar concoction that the store bakeries try to claim is buttercream...:cloud9:

Maybe you just haven't had the RIGHT kind of cake yet...you can be turned...there's still hope! ;)

not that shortening and sugar concoction

Woh woh woh...don't be dissin' the Crisco, milk, confectioner's sugar and vanilla extract frosting. My mother made that fresh for every cake and cupcake for my whole life. That is the best. It never occurred how completely unhealthy it was though...geez, no wonder my heart always hurts.

On a side note, when trying to make that frosting, milk is a critical component. Let's just say that I once made some without it, and it was kinda gross.

Christians can get a beating on the CB, too, so I feel ya. Any Christian (or anyone else, for that matter) who feels they should spew hate speech toward people, particularly those who are gay, need to remove the plank from their own eye first. What part of "no one is righteous" do they not understand? Golly! And for those who are not Christian...give them a valium and they'll go away.

By the way, I'm a believer in what the research supports about homosexuality, that it is caused by a combination of temperament and environmental forces. However, that does not change what I believe about this issue. A person is a person. The Bible says that if you are in the habit of pointing out everyone else's issues, then your issues will be advertised more than those who did not do such a thing. Jesus was kind to those who were "sinners". He actually preferred to hang out with them rather than the self-righteous religious leaders of the day. He stopped the Pharisees from stoning an adulterous woman, and then let her go (that's not the whole story because I just included relevant parts, but feel free to read in in your Bible).

Anyway, I'm done. Talk amongst yourselves. I'll give you a topic. Cheesecake!! Oh, you're already talking about that. Oh well, I am pretty hungry.

All we can do is talk the good talk, fight the good fight, and hope it gets taken up by the majority. Make civility look attractive. (I have a hard time with that one myself...I get so cranked up over injustices!)

The one problem with the Internet is, people make the mistake that their opinion is fact! And the louder you say it and the more you beat up on opposing viewpoints the more factual your opinion becomes.

Talk radio is the same way.

I'll be expecting my sample of "real" cake when I see you in May!! :cool1:

I think I like both cake AND pie. I'm like Switzerland...very neutral on the topic
:rolleyes1

I've had the absolute best Key Lime pie here on Tortola. mmmmmm....

In this world there is room enough for cake and pie - or even cake-pie or pie-cake :rotfl:

I'm getting hungry now

Speaking of cake....isn't someone here in need of some :cake: today...for their birthday???
