Some of you have been following my neighbor issues. There is currently a second family living with the neighbors next door - total of about 12 people in the home. Since numerous inspectors etc. have been showing up their house, they appear to be having the Septic problems addressed. Today a new problem came up.

I was leaving my house around 11:30 in the morning (broad daylight) and discovered two teenagers parked in my parking area (on my property, not the street) in the backseat of a car engaging in, how should I say it, adult private activities. I was so shocked I drove away. I waS ANGRY and couldn't just leave it, so I turned around two blocks later and came back - they were still there. I honked my horn in anger and called the police on my cell phone. At that point the boy came out and he apologized. I told him I was irate that they were on my property and that I had called the police and reported them and that I was too angry to be rational at this point. I then drove away. I'm sure this kid is scared to death.

We do not live in an isolated area. Although they were hidden by trees from my front window, they were open to the street. They were parked right next to one of my vehicles. Thankfully I chose to take the one in the garage today! I am soooo angry because if my kids had been with me, they would have gotten an eyeful. I am a SAHM as is the neighbor who lives several yards from where they were parked - this is not a private spot!

What would you have done? What would you do next? Should I report this to an adult at their house? I certainly understand their motivation, but am so horrified at their lack of judgement. The stupid thing is had they left immediately I probably wouldn't have done a thing - I was just so amazed that they were still there as if they had a right to be!

I'm still in shock!

I don't have a good suggestion. But the idea that is in my head is a garden hose to cool them off.

Maybe use it as an opportunity to make sure they were practicing safe "adult private activities"? I know if my kid was one of the ones in the car I'd sure want you to tell me,not that I ever engaged in any activity in a car as a teenager  .Boy,things sure change the older we get, huh?

As a mother of a teenage boy..I would want to know..

But calling the police..might have been a bit too much!

I think people forget they were young once too!

I agree...this was unappropriate..but getting the law involved ..can cause more problems that it is worth!

Do you know if the guy or girl is charged with anything..they would have to disclose that on most applications(even MCdonalds)..and at our school...would be automatically dismissed of any extra-activities??? Our star soccer player got kicked off because somebody saw him smoking( cigerettes) off campus( at Steak and Shake) and turned him in! Another player (football) got kicked off for toilet papering a house....!

Zero-tolerance has come to a new level...and I would hate to think that a little "hanky-panky" could change these two kids lives.

They were NOT thinking..and I am sure you confronting them..and telling their parents will do the trick!

The police...well...was a bit too much IMHO

I personally think calling the police was a good idea. These bratty kids were not only engaged in a "lewd" act in broad daylight in public they were on somebody else's property. YUCK. I would have been furious. Plus 2 to 1 they were underage. Not to say I neevr did anything stupid because I did... but never in public, never in broad daylight and never on someone's property I didn't know.... ( maybe I should have lived a little huh ;) )

As for the kid on the football team who was kicked off for smoking... this may have been a little harsh... I could see suspending the kid from the team and making him take some sort of health class... Teenagers should not be smoking and there should be some consequence before they turn into a statistic.

As for the kid who was TPing...well for some reason I find this wrong.... make him go bak and clean it up but to kick him off the team... come on.

I would have called the police too...but I probably would not have beeped my horn and warned them.

They were breaking the law and I was young once, but I would never have behaved as they were. There are some things you just don't do in broad daylight, in plain sight of others and on someones else's property.

If they were adults I would call the police, so if the kids want to engage in adult activities then they should face what might happen if they got caught.

BUT then again...as the mother of a teenage daughter...if that was my daughter and someone told me she was doing that in a car and got caught...what I would do to punish her would probably worse then what the police would do!

I'd call in the DIS RIGHTEOUS PATROL and clean that neighborhood up.:jester: :jester: :jester: ........ Hey, in New England we used to put teenagers in stocks for a couple of days for make-outs:) :) :) .......

I don't think calling the cops was out of line...for one thing, if they are school age, that is where they should be, unless this is some new kind of "home schooling";) .
As for the soccer player smoking, good for the school. Our athletes sign a statement saying they will stay drug and alcohol free during their seasons or face the consequences. Smoking too. Now the football player toilet papering, kicking him off is a little much. The smoker is hurting himself and others who breathe near him. And especially if he is the "star" player, it is good that the school held the line on his punishment....at our school sometimes rules get bent for certain kids (believe me, it isn't me doing it).

I don't see anything wrong with calling the police. They were trespassing on private property engaging in lewd acts. You go! Bet they never do that again!!

Although I probably wouldn't have called the police had I realized the boy was one of the kids living with the neighbors (it was the girl's car evidently), I'm not sorry I called given the circumstances. A strange car with that going on is not what I expected at noon in my front yard. I even gave them a chance to leave which they didn't take.

Evidently I should have sent them to Eros's house.

I'm surprised they hung around after you told them you had called the police.

I left after I told them I called the police. I'm sure they were long gone before the police came. I doubt I'll see that car in our neighborhood again - I'm hoping not to see the boy either. Meanwhile, I'm keeping the dog in the house - out of range of the pellet gun they've got over there.

I'd have called the police after I banged on the car window to "deflate" any possibility of continuing the "adult" activities.

To those of you saying"They're only kids" yadda, yadda...I was a kid once and I did not ever engage in that kind of activity in public nor did I engage in that kind of activity on someone else's property. Those of you who did behave like that are lucky, I guess, that you never got caught, or at least got caught by people who didn't have the testicular fortitude to do anything about it.

The only thing I would have done differently is park behind the car so they couldn't have left before the police arrived. If they are old enough to engage in adult behavior, they are old enough to take the consequences for it.

I would have knocked on the window, and ask them to leave. I would think the embarassment of being confronted and thinking you might tell the parents would be punishment enough. Kids do stupid things.

For those of you who felt such "revulsion" over these kids, I'd DEFINITELY recommend that you stay away from any Lover's Lanes:eek:      . You NEVER know what you'll see up there, even, HEAVEN FORBID, in the daytime:jester: :jester: :jester: :jester: ............

Hmm Eros, I find it really hard to believe you see no difference between lover's lane and the middle of my 1/4 acre front yard!

Do you have a view?????? :D :D :D :D

Seriously, if they were parked on MY property, I DEFINITELY would have knocked on the window and asked them to leave. I'd probably do the same thing if they were just sitting there listening to rock 'n roll:) :) :) :) . We're in a small town with few police cruisers. I don't call upon them unless it's an EMERGENCY, but I suppose that each of us has to determine what is "emergent":) :) :) .............
