Just got off the phone with Universal (called the AP holder #) and they are offering 50% off the multiday multipark ticket until August 17th. She said you need to call in to get the tickets at that price, they will not be offered online. They will also be available at the gate until August 17th.

Of course I don't have my pass with me to order the tickets but will call and order when I get home today.

Yeah...I saw that in the newsletter the other day and I'm glad they are doing it again. See...this is why I prefer Universal to Disney because you know they won't offer any type of discount to guests. Universal is always doing specials like this!

naturally, after i just bought 3 from AAA:lmao: ; still glad to get them!

so...

1) what is the actual cost per tix?

2) will they mail them?

(may buy a couple more to stash them)

Sorry, I don't have the exact #'s yet but will post them as soon I get them most likely around 5:30 - 6:00 (NJ time). I am going to order extras too.

Ok, question :)

We are going this Sept & again next May. We are getting AP's - but we haven't ordered them yet. If we order them tonight - do we have to:

1. Wait until we get them

&

2. Activate them

To get this deal? I thought we could go ahead & get our kids' tix for May using this.

for new ap subscribers you can get the ap plus a free 6 months added on to it for the same price as a one year. that is a sweet deal for first time buyers.

if you renew your pap this month, you get an additional free 3 months added on to it for the same price.

i renewed mine this week for $117.xx.
it's not due until october but i wanted to get the 3 additional months tacked onto it.

i know you get the free extra 3 months in august. i didn't ask them about it continuing for sept or later this year.

see above post and
1. you can print at home or be mailed the voucher /or pick up voucher at the kiosk.
you should get 2 forms on it.
one is the day ticket to enter the park and the other is what you take to gs to activate the pass. have to do that on the same day you use the entrance ticket.

2. they are activated the first day you use them.

The ap pass or the multi-day tickets?
Both and remember...you will have to pay for parking unless you're staying onsite. After you actually have the pass in hand, parking is free.

.

Say mac... Our Preferred Pass 2-Year expires in Oct (right before our trip!!) Will it be $117 to renew??

I am trying to decide if we are going to renew, or maybe just buy some of these tickets to hold us over for a year or two.

According to the newsletter, the prices are as follows:

1-day 2-park ticket is: $41.48 + tax

2-day 2-park ticket is: $58.47 + tax

To order tickets, call the passholder hotline.

You can purchase tickets now until 8/16 and 9/2 through 12/20

Limit 6 tickets per passholder. This is only valid for Preferred and Premier passholders.

I'm assuming they will either mail the tickets or do the electronic pick up since you have to call.

i called 2 days ago to renew my preferred annual pass.

it doesn't expire until oct 6th 08.
it was one of those 2 year passes that were on special 2 years ago.

i called the ap hotline and renewed mine.
the tm said i can get the 3 months free by renewing now. they would start the renewal date in october when my present one would expire

the total with tax was $117.10
now my ap will expire on january 6, 2010.

i prefer it expiring then instead of october.
i'm at universal during that time period each fall.

it would be cheaper in the long run to renew your ap w/ the 3 month extension. you get specials through out the year then.
(back in may there was a passholder special of getting tickets for free for a friend in the month of may.)

i don't know if there is any rate increase planned after august.
i thought there was a rate increase in march of this year.
it used to be $99 renewal rate.
maybe the rate was increased in march as with tax on a $99 pass, it would have been less than the 117.10$ then.

go ahead and renew.
you know you'll just lose the tickets if you buy them now and put them away....jk

you are doing a fall trip this year, having a valid pass will come in handy especially if you make a trip for spring 09 and again fall 09.

Heh.. ours expire Oct 5th! :lmao:

I guess we will renew. We will only get 4 days out of it, as things stand now, but things can change lol

Got this from the ap website, it is pretty much the same as what metro west said.

Passholder Special Offer Now- August 17

Enjoy the rest of the summer with family and friends! 2-Park Premier and 2-Park Preferred Annual Passholders will receive 50% off 1-Day,2-Park Tickets ($41.48 per person excluding tax) and 2-Day, 2-Park Tickets ($58.47 per person excluding tax) for up to 6 guests at the front gate ticket window. For more information call 1-866-Pass-4-FUN.

There is a workaround for that. Park over by the bus parking area, run up, get your pass validated then drive in. If for some reason you can't do that, drop off one person, drive around the block while they get their pass validated, pick them up and go park.

Good one! :thumbsup2

I never understood why they try to squeeze an extra 11-12 bucks out of people who are nice enough to pay for a year or 2 in advance. And your point about parking being free for resort guests may be technically correct but in actuality you are paying more per day to park than the day guests who pay for regular daily parking. I wish I could figure out a way to leave my car in the normal guest lot overnight without it getting towed because my AP would save me the $15/day the hotels charge me to park. :confused3

thanks todd & OP for bringing the info over!

if im reading correctly they r the 1 or 2 day tix, not the 7 day ones i wanted
