Unable to use purchased dvc points from ebay seller

My family bought dvc rental points over ebay about a month ago to be used beginning of June. We have has a family situation arise and now will be unable to use this. What are our options? Can we try and rent this out for other people to use or are we stuck? Any help would be greatly appretiated!

You could try posting it on the rent/trade board.

The member would have to arrange for the transfer of the reservation or make a new reservation.

Contact the person from whom you got the points. You have no control over the points or the reservation. You cannot change the name on the reservation, dates, resort or anything else.

Explain the situation to the member and see what he is willing to do. He may be willing to find another renter (for a fee), or at least agree to work with you to change the reservation if you can find someone to use the points.

Most DVC owners that rent would allow you to subrent it. But I would definitely contact the owner as they hold all the cards.

I doubt the owner would be willing to run another auction, at least on ebay, with the headaches and risks involved as you must have ownership to quality and be square trade verified.
