Purchased roundtrip tickets for a family of 4 for a trip from PHL to MCO and got them for 655.00 total with a 20% off promo about a month ago. Flying southwest so I have been checking back to see if the flight has gone down at all. To my surprise, it has risen pretty drastically from the price I purchased for. I was sort of unsure at the time of my purchase if I should buy or not, but wow, I am soooooo glad I made the choice to go ahead and purchase! Its up nearly 900.00 for the same flights now.

Anyone think the prices will come back down????

i don't think so that the prices will come down because inflation is at its peak and no change of decrease in price

My airline tickets for this past May on Air Tran were $149.40 (without seat or luggage fees). My tickets for my upcoming Sept trip I bought in early May, I paid $219.40 (not including seat or luggage fees). At the time I bought airfare for the Sept trip, I was also looking for airfare for my Nov/Dec trip. I kept putting off buying for the Nov/Dec trip because it was so high and because Southwest will have pulled Air Tran out of Dallas by that time. I have been checking prices just about every day for that trip though. Since I was checking all the airline sites anyway, I have also been keeping an eye on that Sept Air Tran flight too. That price hasn't gone down since I bought it and in fact has been over $300.00 for a couple of weeks now. Flights for my Nov/Dec trip have been between $300.00 and $600.00. American finally dropped their prices last week, so I gave in and bought them for $277.40, which is the most I have ever paid for flights from DFW to MCO. The next day they went up $12.00.

With Air Tran leaving Dallas after Nov 22nd, I think our days of cheap airfare are definitely over (at least in Dallas). Southwest has always been the most expensive airline flying out of Dallas. The same day I got the $277.40 airfare on American, Southwest was $611.80 for flights leaving about the same time. On Delta, Continental, US Air, and United they ranged $317.80-$518.00.):sad2: Funny thing is that as well as being the cheapest, American had the best times and were also the only one that had nonstop flights.
