Um..so if you're on a budget, would you like...

I found mine at our Dollar Tree several years ago. I was looking for the over-the-door shoe holder thingy & they had these also so I grabbed one. We take it every trip we go on. I just leave it and the shoe holder in a suitcase. I have also seen the hampers at Family Dollar and Dollar General near the ironing boards & stuff like that.

Thanks so much!

walmart also has ponchos for about $1-$2, if you can't find them anywhere else cheaper. they're in the sporting goods department.

Cool :-D

another thing i always do, is make a first aid kit. i take a ziploc sandwich bag, and in it, i put:

-fingernail scissors with a piece of a straw over the end to keep it from puncturing the bag
-hydrocortisone cream
-neosporin
-band-aids in various sizes
-moleskin, cut to various sizes (in case of blisters)
-tide pen
-purell wipes (individual packets)
-a few safety pins
-emery board

i also put a small pill bottle in my bag, with a few of each of the following in it:

-imodium
-ibuprofen
-zantac
-benadryl
-phazyme
-excedrin migraine

i got the "ultimate packing list" from mousesavers.com, and tweaked it to fit my family's needs. now, i can just add/subtract from it as needed, and print it out whenever we go anywhere.

I do the same but in an Altoid tin :-D

I grabbed two of the travel Johnson & Johnson first aid kits for free with coupons from Target last year before our trip. I also got some free Mickey bandaids with coupons and switched out the regular ones for the Mickey ones. I need to get a Tide pen or Shout wipes though! With a toddler those would be invaluable!

I watch two blogs (I don't know if you can post them so if they are blotted out I am sorry!!!). One is couponingtodisney.com and the other is southernsavers.com. Often they have freebies for shampoo, conditioner, even detergent and the new Shout erasure!! I get them all and put them in my travel drawer. My boss gave me a car cup gum container (I can't chew gum so :confused3 idk what kind, maybe orbits??). I think it will fit 3 of the pods type of detergent. We normally do laundry halfway through our trip so its perfect to fit those! Then I have a small container to tote stuff back home with! Also, I watch waaaaayyyyyy in advance for anything that could be used for any type of vacation. All of it goes in the stock pile! Also I keep a "stock pile" of toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc so when we go on vacation we can have new and I have paid pennies for this! I regularly can get toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss all for free. I make sure I have a few extra on hand at all time. As a side note its also great if somebody visits and they forgot theirs at home!

One thing that I may have to buy and put in my vacation drawer is lingerie bags. I got mine for $1 or $1.50 at Wal-Mart and put my socks, knee highs in to wash when I am at home. Its amazing!! I don't lose my socks between the wash and the bedroom!! May not be a 'cheap' item but it keeps me from having to buy more socks!! I will have to go and see what else I can think of!

Thanks! I just checked out these sites yesterday for the first time, and I'm already expecting some free stuff in the mail for my Sept. trip. How fun!

I check them everyday (sometimes more) and use them both to plan grocery/shopping trips. It's amazing how much I can get for free/cheap. Also, both blogs blow UP around Christmas with deals and discounts! Any money saved is money that can go for something else!!!
Glad I could help!

I am a huge fan of both sites as well! They have both saved me tons of money! And C2D really taught me how to and encouraged me to save and pay cash for Disney!

i receive updates from C2D in my FB feed, but, i don't know, it hasn't really done anything for me. maybe i'm lazy, or i scroll too fast and miss things, but i haven't saved a dime. using coupons doesn't do me much good - DH and DD are VERY picky, so most of the things we buy don't have coupons available EVER. i manage to price match almost all of the produce i buy, so that helps, but it's not nearly enough.

a couple of weeks ago, when DH and i were grocery shopping at wal-mart, we got in a checkout line behind a lady who would definitely qualify as an extreme couponer. she had THREE coupon binders, and both of her back pockets were stuffed with coupons. i watched her get over $220 worth of stuff for $27.01. amazing. :worship:

I have her on my facebook but I have noticed that maybe 1/4 to 1/3 of her posts go on FB. Apparently something new with the way FB processes info. It's not just hers as other pages are the same way. I tend to go to her blog and follow that. And honestly I don't do alot of my grocery shopping from her posts, I tend to follow southernsavers.com more for that. Not really sure why, but the SS tends to make more sense to me for groceries. C2D works well for me with other stuff...laundry detergent, freebies, and great gift ideas! Between DH and myself, we have 15 nieces and nephews! So I start buying early and often for birthdays, Christmas, graduations, etc. I find by following both blogs I get the best of all worlds!!
As far as the lady in Wal-Mart, that could almost be me! :lmao: I am not big on the coupon binders (too ADD to put them together!!! :rotfl2:) but I will spend an hour or less on Saturday, putting together my grocery list, printing coupons (98% of mine are internet...not too big on the newspaper coupons unless its a big one!), and putting them in a folder. Then I grab my folder, Sunday afternoon, Monday, whenever, and head to the store. I print my grocery list off of SS so its an easy check the price to see its the same, find what I want, and check off the list. I easily save 50% or more on my grocery bill every time I shop. I will actually tell you a secret...right now, I haven't been to the grocery for a big trip in over 3 weeks. We had to get a package of chicken (where the heck did those 7 packs go!!) and a package of taco seasoning but those I consider almost non-grocery trips! :rotfl: I am not saying these two sites work for everybody (heaven knows I tried the coupon binder and was too ADD for it to work!!) but I am saying for freebies and in my case grocery shopping (oh and TP and Paper towels on Amazon!!) saves me so much money!! My poor DH no longer questions when I want him to get a second cart at Kroger. Had a cart full, put 2 liters and several can goods in the second, paid $75 for it; my savings over $115! More Disney money! :thumbsup2

I found them on the health and beauty aisle, believe it or not. Or you can ask one of the employees. They seem to be seasonal (show up in the spring), so if they are not there the first time you look, keep checking back.

:thanks:

I use a (new) travel soap dish. It's bigger than the altoids and J&J boxes, but still small enough to not be a bother bringing, and hardsided so I don't have to worry about anything crushing. When not on vacation, it goes in my purse.

We save the toothbrushes/toothpaste/floss that we get twice a year from the dental visits for these purposes. I wish our dentists gave something other than colgate though. It's not our favorite - but for free, perfect travel size and a week tops - we can deal! :lmao:

Lol! Come to think if it I just stuck those in the drawer the last time we got...those need to go in the bag! I traveled so much for work I bought doubles of everything and a bag to keep them in. Now if we go for a trip somewhere we just grab the bag! It has everything in it. I think our dentist gives Colgate as well! Must be a centralized warehouse shipping to all the dentist office. Lol. We actually got bottles of scope this past visit. One of the hygienist said she was going to take care if my DH. When I went to put the stuff up we had 1 toothbrush, 4 things of floss, 3 of toothpaste, 3 bottles of scope and a partridge in a pear tree!!! Guess we can have our own floss, paste and scope for Disney this year! ROTFLOL!!!

to know about good deals on some of the stuff others are purchasing/finding in prep for their trip?:confused3

I know I would :cool1:

So here's what I've got so far:

Apple's promotion for free rental of stroller. Not using it, but reaaally had to think about it :scratchin

Back up power/ battery charger for i-phone. I bought 2 from amazon at $1.79 each! (they aren't the highest rated but my coworker uses it and he says it's fine. and w/ my princess:princess: and waiting on lines, I NEED to have a charged phone at all times!
:rotfl:

At the Dollar store they have those slap bracelets and the backing is white, so I plan to take a sharpie and write my contact info on id. Voila! I.D bracelet!pixiedust:

What's some of the stuff you've found?

Ugh so mad to have missed the Apple promo...we're going the end of April and will need to rent a double stroller..ugh...anyone know of any other rental deals?

I was able to print 0.50 cent coupons for softsoap. My Walmart has the 7.5 ounce bottles for 0.94. That means body wash for 0.44. And a hint, you can print two coupons per computer!
I didn't find mine in the regular body wash section (but you might, my Walmart is weird-it has valet parking weird) but I have seen this size in big bins that are divided into several sections. I think deodorant, shampoo, etc. I actually found mine over by the paper towels. Several random items between top and bottom section.

Hey. I've never posted before but just wanted to tell you that Apple still has the special running. I reserved mine Friday and I think it said good till March 31.
