Does anyone have any experience with these for asthma meds? I was thinking of purchasing a small portable unit but really need more information. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am a respiratory therapist in NYS. Why do you want an ultrasonic one as opposed to a regular jet neb? What type of medications will you be nebulizing / other asthma meds is your child on?

It's actually for me. I am just using albuterol but was looking at the small compact, battery operated ones. Mystique and the Omron.

We have the Omron and love it. Takes only a little more maintenence (have to run vinegar/H2O solution thru it for a few seconds after each use and rinse the pieces gently, but it only takes aminute)

I keep a half-cup GladWare bowl with the vinegar/H2O solution in it and another with plain H2O, and simply change the solution after several days.
There is a dropper bottle included with the unit to keep the solution in todrip into the med chamber and run thru the unit.

I would definitely recommend it.

One note tho: The new Pulmicort neb solution is not supposed to be run thru a ultrasonic neb. Don't really know why as the particle size is supposed to be more uniform and better inhaled, but the directions say not to use the U/S neb.
