What are your Disney pet peeves?

My pet peeves are:

people who’ve been waiting in line forever but wait til they get to the register to figure out what everyone wants.
Oh yes, I hate this. When I visit a park with family or friends, I collect everyone's orders on a note in my phone while in line and at the register I can order for 10 people in under one minute.
Luckily, mobile order now shields us from that.

To add to this speaking about my 2017 trip I mentioned in a Saturday to Saturday schedule MK had MNSSHP party nights back then 3 nights but back then it closed at 7pm, there were nights that were not party nights that closed between 9-11pm regular park hours. It still was an effort to try and maximize park time with the earlier closing times.

Nowadays MNSSHP starts earlier than it did back then, closes the park at 6pm, and regular park hours are not that late anymore.

To be fair with a mention towards HHN over at Universal they do close down the Studios at like 5pm I believe but they just don't have nearly the same number of nights that are affected throughout the year at WDW does. I also forgot about Jollywood Nights over at DHS. Fall/Halloween season is rough already but if you're going in that Christmas time like another poster had talked about it can get really dicey there.
HHN are somehow worst and better at the same time. They are every night from Wednesday to Sunday, so leaving only two days with later closing hours of regular operations. Difficult to plan around that. And they cancel the night show completely, even on Monday and Tuesday during the whole party season. But they're only two months of the year, whole September and October.

People who block the view of those behind them during fireworks/parades (kids on shoulders, raised cell phones and tablets, Minnie ears left on). Special place in hell....

Or those people who feel entitled to place themselves directly in front of you right as the parade is about to start while you’ve been camped out for 8 years…

And it's not just one area that you have to walk through them. People will smoke all over that walking path so it's just one area that you have to walk past them. It drives us nuts. At least wait and go to the designated area. Make friends with other smokers.

Pet Peeve #2: They also throw their cigarette butts on the ground instead of the trash, even if they are right next to said trash

Pet Peeve #3: People who vape in public but act all "James Bond" like no one can see what they are doing.

Hmm, I clearly have smoke angst. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m with you on all of this 💯

Yes, my personal belief is that DVD should have insisted on a minimum purchase to create and activate a membership. I also personally believe that the minimum should equal 1 bedroom villa in one's home resort for one week. There are not enough studios. Also, everyone should be counseled to buy where they want to stay. Don't buy SSR expecting GFV or even, BCV.
DVC should have been built off of buying a week in a 2 Bedroom like any other timeshare...

but what Disney realized quickly was that was not actually how people wanted to vacation at Disney.... They weren't looking for villas, they were looking for the Disney Resort experience, and studios would work just fine... Look at how dismal the living rooms and dining tables are even in the 1 and 2 bedroom units compared to other systems...

The 2 Bedroom Fiasco known as Boardwalk Villas speaks to this very point... Everyone wanted a studio... nobody wants a 1 BR Pool/Garden...

Best I can tell, a minimum purchase of 230 Points at OKW has about as much purchasing power most generously as around 320 points at Polynesian tower, realistically closer to 425-445 points because of the view type disparity....

If that was the minimum purchase requirement for Polynesian Tower, no one would be buying.... So instead they emphasize the small units and delude people into thinking 100 points will be enough (no way it will at the Poly Tower!)

Yes! Now more people will be mad at you
8-) I started with OKW in 1994 350 points. The members with 25 points cause all of our dues to rise. There is a cost to managing each contract.

You asked and I'm in a mood so ... :rotfl:

I don't like the wedding reception party thing they do at the pools every afternoon. I don't want loud pop music and hula hoop games and a blaring microphone. I want to listen to resort-appropriate music while I consume my overpriced beverage.

It annoys me that when Disney adds new 'lands', they build one good ride and one throwaway (Mine Train/LittleMermaid, Slinky/AlienSS, FOP/dumb boat ride, etc). Is it really a 'land' if it only has 1 good ride, a store, and a QS? Even the MF ride itself is pretty weak even though the set is cool.

I LOVE star wars, so it always annoys me when I visit GE that the whole place is a made-up storyline instead of something drawn from one of the movies. Nothing is recognizable until you get to the MF ride. It's what another company would build if they wanted something to look like Star Wars but not get sued for copyright infringement.

Also annoying -- when Disney puts a new thing in place of an old thing instead of just building something new. I get why Ellen's EA had to go, but why didn't they just update the Great Movie Ride and put MMRR someplace else? Why did we lose the muppets for the monsters ride? Why is that decrepit Figment ride still there but Maelstrom is gone? Why did we lose the original Soarin' movie????

Related ... the sad state of tomorrowland, the imagination pavilion, Morocco, Stitch's GE, etc. Why build new lands before fixing what's already there?

Also related ... the sad state of the Boardwalk area. Used to be the best place to spend an evening. Again, why build new bars in the parks and leave gaping holes on the Boardwalk?

Why do I have to make park reservations? This feels like the leftover '6 feet apart' signs I see sometimes from during covid.

Having to have my %$*@&!!!! phone out all the time. Related ... having to walk around people [like me] with their eyes glued to their phones.

The livestreamers in the parks. I wish this was banned except for special events (first day of a festival, opening party nights, etc).

I hate how complicated it is now when you try to explain it to people. We used to invite friends and family to join us all the time and all we needed to discuss was dining reservations (which is a normal thing IRL). Now, by the time I explain all the changes and iterations of LL's etc etc ... they kinda lose interest. We always used to travel with people but it's hard to get the casual visitor excited about WDW when it's so complicated (which IMO also makes it feel nickel-and-dimey).

Totally my own issue, but I get annoyed with myself at all the things I miss because I've been a member too long -- room service at BC, free FP and MB and ME, WL flag family, tours of resorts, Morocco, actual sports items in the shop in England and World cup stuff during WC tournaments, merchandise (esp in epcot) that wasn't IP based, rides that weren't constantly down (esp new rides -- I've still never been on Tiana even though I waited on line twice, and the last two times I went on Rise they had us enter through the stormtrooper room even though we'd paid $25 for the LL), etc etc etc.

Bonus DVC Pet Peeve -- Why is it so hard to look at the 'accounting' of my points and figure out which points I've used for what? DVC's IT and structure seems unnecessarily complicated. I usually hate AI bots on websites, but I'd like one on DVC's site so I could ask things like 'Are my borrowed points used on X reservation or Y?' or 'If I cancel this reservation, could I bank all of the points into next year?' etc.

Man, I'm quite peevey lol.

Cant say I disagree with any of this.

Disney Pet Peeves: AP park reservations
No option to waive trash and towel day when it falls on the day before departure

Disney Parenting Pet Peeves:
Allowing an elementary aged child to sit at an adult bar
Allowing children to sit on the floor in restaurants :rolleyes2

Personal Pet Peeves:
Not remembering the official name of anything (e.g.: Millennium Falcon ride, Star Tours Land, Bookstore bar 😃)
Listening to DH complain (e.g.: the buses, wheelies on the buses, long lines, carrying my cell in his cargos)

Ok, I'll chime in. I have 3 pet peeves, though if I really think about, there are definitely more. So here goes:

1) No package delivery
2) No Magical Express
3) People who stop in the middle of a path to strategise - you don't stop to look at your phone in the middle of the road while driving (at least I hope not), so please don't do it while in the parks.
