hey, i just had a question about my upcoming trip.
we will be staying 3 nights at contemporary and 3 nights at
beach club. we want to get the ulimate park hopper for us and
kids, does anyone know if we can get the 7 day pass at check
in at contemporary, or if they will make us get two different
passes??

My understanding is that you have to purchase the ulitmate hopper pass at EACH resort you stay at, someone please correct if this has changed (don't think it has though). Each resort gives you a plastic card (this is your park ticket to everything, well just about everything!) which can be used for charging purposes also if you want it to, then billed to your room account. The UPH is the only ticket that works this way. Each resort will sell you the UPH when you check in at the front desk, just let them know then. We do this on each trip and never a problem.

If they only had to purchase 1 UPH it would be a 6 night/7 days one. If they have to purchase 2 would it be 2-3 night/4 days one? Because they wouldn't need 8 days.

When purchasing UPH's at checkin at a resort, you can leave off first or last day. So in this case, one way to do it is a 3 day/3 night at the CR (dropping the last day) and a 4 day/3 night at the BC would avoid the duplication and paying double for the transition day.

You need to buy a separate one at each resort but on the switch day, the second resort will let you leave that day off as it is already on your first resort card key. Nevertheless, you should consider not getting that pass and instead going with a hopper. The problem you face is that you would buy a 4 day length of stay and then a 3 day length of stay whose combined cost is substantially greater than buying a single 7 day length of stay. The reason is that the incremental daily cost of a length of stay goes keeps going down for every additional day purchased. Buying 6 or 7 day hopper plus will cost a lot less.

The Park Hopper would be cheaper, but there are differences:

Park Hopper Pass - you can visit all 4 parks any time, go from one to the other; Magic Kingdom, Aminal Kingdom, Epcot and MGM.

Park Hopper Plus Pass - all of the above plus add on features; either a water park or Pleasure Island (not Disney Quest). You can add up to 4 plus features if you purchase a 7 day ticket at an extra cost. But they are not 4 per day, 4 total.

Ultimate Hopper Pass - You can only purchase this ticket at a WDW Resort. You can visit all 4 parks, Disney Quest and Pleasure Island any time they are open, as many times as you like, the length of your stay. UHP is good until 12 midnight the day you check out of your resort. You may be able to drop (not pay for) this last day, but that depends on the Resort I'm told, if they will allow it.

A 6 night/7 days UPH would be 331.81, a 7-Day PHP is 295.95 (plus $5 S&H) through Ticket Mania, and the unused days never expire! ~:)~
