Evening all !

I know some might think I should post this in the DCL section, but I am after the Uk people's expertise on this, as its more a UK point of view that I am after.

We are thinking of a Disney Cruise, but I wondered, the people from the UK who have been, who did you book with?

I booked last years WDW holiday direct with Disney via the UK site which allows you to see the dates and prices, but when I look for DCL it directs me to Virgin and 2 other tour operators.

So I wondered who did you book with please? I don't fancy booking anything with Virgin Holidays and I have no experience of the 2 other tour operators, plus they only seem to have info on Med cruises, and we want to visit Cataway Cay !

Your responses are greatly appreciated folks

thanks

Kev :thumbsup2

We cruised on the Wonder in 2008 and are doing the Westbound Trans Atlantic on the Magic this year. The 1st one was through Dreams Unlimited (sponsor of the cruise boards) and the other booked with DCL, then transferred to DU for the on board credit they give you.
We had no bother with this site http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/reservations/booking

The price from both was the same, most book online with DCL for a small OBC then transfer to DU to get another.
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

We did the same - booked direct with Disney through the website then transferred the booking to Dreams Unlimited for the onboard credit.

We booked with Virgin Holidays as part of our wedding/holiday package :)

:goodvibes

Booked 4 of ours direct with Disney then the 5th one (last August) with Dreams Unlimited Travel. Superb service, emails answered promptly, rebooked onboard to get extra discount, even though I found the process complicated Sue Ellen at DU knew exactly what I wanted to do and did it all with no fuss & transferred our original cabins to new reservation.
Booked again with DCL for next year but will transfer to DU sometime.

UK agents usually charge a premium for booking DCL cruises so double check their prices if considering.
When booking direct with DCL remember to remove insurance and Transfers(if you don't want them) 1st price you get includes them.

Many of us have crusied DCL on here so your choice if you want UK views here or wider views post on DCL forum.:goodvibes

We used Vacationstogo.com and they were excellent from start to finish. Also the cheapest from all the quotes we recieved and ship board credit included.

Hi We have done 2DCL both on the wonder. 2nd cruise was this December just gone(2009) and then the 1st was 3yrs ago at the same time of year.

1st cruise was booked direct with Deams sun and had no problems and received great service

2nd Cruise again contacted DS for a quote but wasnt happy with the reply/service, person responding didnt seem to know what they were doing and kept quoting for things I hadnt asked for (I was booking 3cabins for a party of 11). In the end I booked with another US company and had fantastic service and also received the on-board credit I cannot recommend this company enough.

I am notsure what we can and can't post on the DIS (which I loooove!!!) so as I would hate to think that I would offend anyone by posting the details here if you would like to PM me your details I would be more than happy to supply you with all the details.

Hi Paula
Rules for posting about companies, you are free to discuss any company as long as as you are not posting just to promote a commercial venture. If you have no ties to that company and just posting your past experiences you are OK.
Posting your info on the forum is better than sending in PM's then we can all read about any good(or bad) experiences you have had. :thumbsup2

This info is listed in posting guidelines, rule #7 http://www.wdwinfo.com/guidelines.htm

Hi Wayne

Thanks for the advise.:worship:

Im pretty new to the DIS so have this real fear of uspetting anyone!!

We booked with ************* and had fantastic service from start to finish, in fact as my booking was quite complex (had 3 people who who had a disibility me being one) we even had correspondence with the top boss!!

I cannot recommend the service we received enough and would be more than happy to pass on the e-mail details of the person I booked with.

Thanks for the advise again Wayne:thumbsup2

Don't think you have much to worry about, this is the friendliest Disney forum on the net. :goodvibes

Thanksxxxxxxxxx

I cant believe that we have gone to Florida every year for the last 17years and I have only just found the DIS!!!!:confused3

Suppose me and technology dont go together very well!!!!

Hi again Paula, just been informed the company you used is on the word/company filter, something I never knew. Obviously DIS must have had some issues with that company in the past.
No worries I have learned something, glad you found them OK.

Hi Wayne

As I say in my opinion cannot recommend them enoughxxxx

I suppose it's like everything as they say "you can please some of the people some of the time"!!!

Hi there,

We have completed 4 cruises so far and have another 3 booked, 2 this year and we use Dreams Unlimited to do this. Remember if you book onboard you get further onboard credits and better offers and you can still use DU to handled the reservation which gives you the DU onboard credits, so it's a win win!!!!
