Hi everyone,

Does anyone know whether my husband will still be able to use his original based driving licence when he picks up the car in Florida, as his one has not been changed over yet to a two part licence with photocard. It is still accepted in UK.

Many thanks

I, too, have only the paper licence and have had no problem with hire cars in Florida, or anywhere else for that matter.

yes my dad had no problem last year and his is cellotaped together!!

The paper part is the only bit we have ever been asked for - even though we have the credit card sized one as well.

Thank you for your replies. That's a relief as we go in two weeks and I had only just considered it.

In the future it would be handy to have it changed to a new one, as sometimes shops/parks ask for photo id and the new driving licence card is easier to carry round than passports.

The old style is fine by the way.

Yes agree with these comments either is fine but the photocard is good for id re credit card/age etc.
