UK owner selling DVC contract

We're about to put our DVC contract for sale - can anyone share a recent experience when selling their DVC contract? Was the process complicated? How long did it take? Was there any hidden costs at closing? Was it easy enough to claim back the FIRPTA after closing?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
