I ve just been looking at Virgin Holidays website as we want to book our flights & hotel through them as it just makes things a tad easier but they re not booking any multi way holidays for 2009 yet.

We re getting married next may so i figured by now we d be able to book or at least see how much its all gonna costs but no luck. We re wanting to stay at both Poly & POFQ over a 20 night period

If you transferred hotels & booked through virgin how far in advance was it before you were able to book with them?

Also went on Disneys site to try to see hotel prices & yet again no 2009 prices

Me again :rotfl: Just a little tip, make sure you shop around before you give virgin ALL your cash ;)

We have booked our flights through virgin last month during the sale they had and saved £300 EACH (We wanted to fly premium economy *** Im a fussy bugger :rotfl: )

We are going to book our car hire through an online company, one recommended through disboard members - saves us £200 compared to the same car & package that virgin offer.

We have booked the hotels directly with Disney and told them we were AA members who are affiliated with AAA over there and have got nearly 20% off the room prices.

Shop around honey and weigh up everyones prices and special offers, the money is better in your pocket so you can buy more stuff while your there :lmao:

i dont think you can do many tailor made holidays online, if you call them they will do it over the pohone for next may.

Dont book your car through them though, we just cancelled ours as they want something like £550 for a suv and usrentacar wanted £316 for the same thing with all the insurances.

Ok dont laugh but when you mention AA i presume you mean AA the car call out company??:confused3 If so how comes you can get a discount through having them??

We ve got AA cover on our car but its something our car comes automatically with so im not sure if we would qualify.

What kinda ref do they need when you told them you were AA members?? I presume they want something so they can check out what you re saying is true

They ask to see your AA card at check-in to verify the discount. The AA and the AAA are affiliated (or owned) with the same company hence the discounts. Oh, just remembered. I called to see what sort of discount I would get and one asked for the card number, the other said to produce it on check-in. As long as your membership is valid it doesn't matter where you got it, free with the car or not!

I know people have joined the AA to get discounts at Disney! I also know of one person who took their expired card and it was accepted...

Talking of virgin, have you read Meryll's PJ re Virgin? If you go with them be careful and check everything.

Have you heard of Quidco? It is a cash back internet site that gives you a percentage (or set monetary amount) of money that you spend with retailers through the site. I've currently got well over £50 from buying things through Quidco that I would have bought anyway.

Virgin are currently offering 4% back through Quidco which is a good amount. I reckon I'll have got over £250 back from the cost of our flights, insurance, car rental, airport parking etc when we book next year.

If you haven't heard of it have a look - quidco dot com.

Hi, hope this helps..... we looked at Virgin but ended up booking with Thomas Cook Signature Hols. If you need any info let me know.:goodvibes

Hi feline figaro,

We have our holiday booked through Virgin, and had to ring them to book as we wanted 3 nights without accommodation (as we have already booked a cruise direct with Disney during our stay).

I would think that if you call them that multi centres should be on sale for next May by now.

DF's brother and his fiancee want to do a multi centre stay (WDW & New York) and were told this would be on sale this July for Oct 09, but as you are just wanting 2 different WDW resorts I can't imagine why this wouldn't be on sale now, I'm sure it's just something not available to book online.

As Alex said, just try and make sure everything is correct at the time of booking if possible, making amendments with them has proved to be a real nightmare for us. I still need to call them back (again!) actually to make sure they've added the dining plan correctly....

Thomas Cook Signature normally try and price match / beat Virgin if you give them your Virgin quote but they weren't on sale when we booked, might be worth a look into also though. (They fly VA also).

We re hopefully booking tonight but i had completly forgotten that in 3 days Disney need our reservation No. Im panicking what we re gonna do if we cant book with Virgin yet

Im petrified of flying,we flown a few times & the only flight i ve really ever been comfortable on is Virgins which is why we want to stick with them. Am gutted we cant book it online as you get a good discount that way too. Am hoping if we call them that they should be able to do the multi centre option.

Its so annoying as you can book 1 resort with them but they wont let you book 2 yet......not even for next Jan & that in holiday terms really is nt that far off . Thats making me pretty worried when they re gonna release multi centre choices for May

Phone them.

We couldn't book online because we are staying in one of the DVC resorts (Virgin were offering a couple of them last year) You had to phone them, but we still got the discount....are you a Frequent Virgin?

Kim so when you called Virgin were they were able to offer you things that were not available on the net? I so hope that turns out true.

I just worked out how much difference booking flights separetly through virgin & our 2 resorts direct with Disney would be in comparison to booking everything through virgin & by the looks of it it works out a lot more expensive. Im actually shocked at how much expensive it all worked out to & in booking everything separatly i never even inc a car rental fee.

I know my df will go mad when i show him the differences in price, he will only wanna book everything through Virgin. I swear i ve read that most brides saved lots of money when booking things individualy. Where am i going wrong??

Just need my df to come home now so we can decide what we re gonna go

sent you a PM re: getting a 10% discount with Virgin!

Yes you should be able to book over the phone for multi centre holidays.

I agree....We have always found it a lot more expensive booking Separately. Our accommation alone would have been £6000 for 8 people:scared1:

In total for 8 people it came to £1123 each....thats for 3 weeks at Old Key West Resort, with free dining, all the tickets and a 8 seater minibus with platinum insurance.

good luck

Kim

virgin have 10% off at the moment but also if you join virgin atlantics flying club and quote this number when booking with virgin holidays you get 10% off as well. these discounts are not on the fuel charges of apd/resort tax either.

I used to work for virgin atlantic and love the brand so we always book with them but have had alot of trouble with them for this holiday and our honeymoon.

They prob wont have the disney reservation as the ones they gave us our planner couldnt find so they just found us on the dates and resort but it does take a while to get from virgins system to disney as virgin just book out of their allocation

Thankyou so much everyone for all of the info you ve sent me:goodvibes , i had a mini panic attack when i found out that we needed hotel ref for Disney & Virgin would nt allow me to book Multi centre holiday for next may:eek: .

I took many of yours advice & called Virgin & spoke to the most lovely lady who was a Disney specialist. She was able to get all the details up on her screen & low & behold she said we could book:worship: . Why the hell their internet site would nt let us i dont get. Anyway she said she d call back to speak to my df re the car rental etc, she called back exactly on the time she said she would. We could nt of asked for a more helpful person, she was super friendly & spent most of the 40 min call telling us about her last trip to WDW.

So now everything has been booked :cool1:  :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: :lovestruc :cloud9: :cutie:

I cant explain how happy i am now:) , we ve been waiting a very very very long time to just get to this stage so im a little shell shocked now that things are really falling in to place :cutie: .

We ve got 7 nights at Poly & 13 nights at POFQ, ladys noted that we re getting married out there &honeymooning plus she gave us an extra free car upgrade which we dont seem to think she should of. We ve now got a super fancy big car:laughing: Just proves that if your extra friendly it can sometimes lead to little surprises:woohoo:

We ve also booked to go in the special Virgin Lounge at Gatwick as it sounds like a pretty sweet deal :bitelip:

Im so happy, your all stars:thumbsup2 , you all gave me much needed help when i really needed it ;)

Thanks "meryll83" & "A whole new world" for your pms :cutie:

sorry to take away the pixie dust but if you stay in a disney hotel a deluxe one they give you a free upgrade

I thought Flying Club discount couldn't be used in conjunction with any other discount?
Or is the 10% off at the moment across all Virgin Holidays and not an online promotion etc? I get confused!!
