UK Brides: Hair and make-up

Hi! Just wondered how any UK brides (or anyone else who travelled far to their wedding) got on with your hair and makeup? Did you manage to fit a trial in? Or did you just say what you wanted on the day? Anyone you could recommend using? Thanks!

I am using Patricia LeJeune for my VR in May. I won't be able to fit in a trial but have been madly saving hairstyle pictures for reference which I will print out and take with me. The rest I will just have to trust to her artistic genius!!

I'm using Beaute Special - I had a trial with Ana last Ocotber and she was fantastic.

I orginally had Patricia La Jeune booked in but had a few communication problems - I just think she is too populat and busy

I used Patricia LeJeune and did NOT have a trial with her before. The day of the wedding she did everything as I wanted just by what I told her, no inspiration pics. I loved my hair and makeup and it lasted from 6 am until well after our dessert party.

Patricia is charging me $60.00 for hair, $60,00 for make-up and $50.00 for travelling to my hotel room so a total of $170.00. That's just for me, as my daughter is doing her own hair and make-up.

I didn't have time for a trial first so I looked through all the PJ & TR for brides who had make up that I liked. I picked Janet from on site beauty and she was great

planning on using beaute speciale but won't be having a trial with them. I will try and find pictures of what I want and may do a hair trial over here and take lots of pictures.

i think if you tell them what you want with pictures etc i'm sure they can replicate it to a high standard.

Here are the prices for beaute speciale

Hair Services:
$65 Regular Hair Service
$50 Short Hair (and children under age 12)

Make-up Services:
$50 Regular Make-up Service
$75 Airbrush Make-up Service
$30 Eyes Only
$10 For Eye Lashes (pair)

They don't charge to come to you hotel unless you stay off site

Here is what Beaute Special charged me.

Hair - $50 for my hair as it is pixie short and $65 for my Niece who has long hair and had a half updo and curls down her back. $65 is the regular charge.

For make up - $65

I added an extra $10 to add air brush foundation and $10 to have false eye lashes (which I highly recomend for the photos) but you do not have to add these extras.

So for the regular service $130 per person, there was not a travel charge. I also pre-paid by credit card before traveling so that I did not have to worry about paying on the day. I did tip the ladies who came $25 each at the time of the service.

Another DB booked with Beaute Speciale and no time for a trial but lots of pics to show.
You could always have a trial at home before you go if you know what your looking for so you have more of an idea how long it will take to do.

I've taken my pics to my hairdresser in the UK to check with them if they think its doable and what I will need to do to ensure I can have that style!

I wanted a trial more to check I liked my hair that way, than to check out the hairdresser. Ana did it exactly like the photo I showed her.

my sister had a trial in the uk before her final dress fitting.

then she took lots of pictures of the hair stylist and they copied from that.

im going to do the same
