I'm looking for someone who (through Virgin holiday's in the UK) has requested the wedding pavilion on Dec 11th at 2:30. Please could you PM me ASAP.
Thanks! Dee

sorry to be nosy is that the time and date you require?

we are going to book our holiday through them

that's the date and time we really, really want.
I requested this thru' Virgin on Sept 7th last year and paid a deposit, altho' she explained that they couldn't book it with Disney until later, which I already knew. Anyway, yesterday (10 months out) I emailed Virgin to ask if they could check with Disney if there was already anyone else interested in this date/time to prepare myself for being in the 'lottery'. Today she emailed me back to say that she already had a couple request that date/time with her BEFORE me, and if she got them their date/time then she would try for my 2nd choice! It was too late to phone her, but firstl I can't believe someone else requested exact same date/time/location as me BEFORE 7th Sept, and secondly, why didn't she tell me that someone else had already asked for the same when she took my request?
I think I'm now gonna go direct thru' Disney for my first choice, as that way I'll at least be in the 'lottery' whereas if I stick with Virgin I don't have a chance.
Sorry to vent but I feel really angry at the moment - thanks for listening (if you're still there:laughing: )

yes i must admit when we were looking at intimates i was worried about going through them, I used to work for virgin atlantic so always book with virgin holidays but this did put me off a bit

Dont worry you vent away

Dee, I would definately phone Disney direct, now! We phoned for sea breeze point May 2008 in December and was told straight away - phone back in May, you cannot do anything til then. Having asked a fellow DIS'er yesterday about their "penciled in" booking for May 2008, DH2B phoned again today and we are now "penciled in" for our date and a wedding co-ordinator will be phoning us by Friday. I know this still isn't a definate booking, but I feel a lot happier and I'm sure you would rather take your chance in a lottery, if thats how it turns out than have no chance at all with virgin. I would be angry also. Anyway, who's to say Virgin will actually make their phone call at 9am sharp on the right day or phone to be penciled in before hand, you may well end up pipping them to the post this way. Fingers crossed for you, I understand this is a renewal so no other date would have so much meaning for you.

thanks for your encouragement guys.
I spoke to Virgin this morning and it's true that someone else requested my date/time before me, but why didn't she tell me this last September, instead of leaving me for 5 months thinking I at least stood a chance.
I've now decided to go direct to Disney (when they open - we're 5 hours ahead here!) so I at least stand a chance of getting what I want.
I can't believe the TA's really don't care and she didn't even seem bothered. Only 45 mins to go and at least I can get pencilled in then.

Any tips for a UK bride 'going it alone'? I'm gonna have to arrange my own officiant and video now:scared:

i was originally going to go with Virgin as i was going to have an intimate - i ended up having so many problems that i chose to book direct with Disney. I had a custom wedding though. But i did find them very easy to work with and prefered having a main point of contact rather than me asking someone at virgin who then asked someone at Disney who responded to virgin who would then respond to me with half a story!

another setback:sad2: I just tried the call-back thingy on the Disney weddings website but it doesn't accept UK no's and I'm at work for hours yet so still worrying:headache:

You can ring them direct - just put 001 - in front of the number !!!

Good luck !:thumbsup2

I'll have to wait until I get home otherwise they'd fire me for phoning the US and then I couldn't afford my VR! I'm expecting a telling off for calling 0870 this morning for Virgin when the bill comes:eek:
