Had to propsone out trip due to Covid from last year 2020

tried getting refund of tickets from the issuer but since there linked to my Disney experience then no refunds

contacted Disney and they have said the uk 2020 tickets expire 30 sept 21 and there’s no way to extend them or get refund or credit

you’d think you would be able to extend them or get a refund as we’ve paid for tickets we can’t use, £2,500 gone, lost

anyone else have this

As PP said if you had travel insurance it may be covered.

Its also possible that Disney will change their mind depending on travel restrictions as that date comes closer.

But also once a ticket expires you can always pay the difference between the expired ticket rate and the new ticket rate to update the ticket so at least you would not be out as much as you would be if they did not offer that option.

I think the issue may be if you didn't purchase the tickets from Disney. We purchased our 14 day Disney Tickets from WDW Travel Company and they are providing a refund even though they are on MDE, someone else on here also had the same.

There should always be some sort of credit in the ticket to exchange for a new one at the Gate, it may not be exactly what you paid for it though and a lot of CMs in guest relations are not very good with UK tickets.

Maybe email into Disney and ask them to extend? I would def push harder for an extension- a refund is unlikely.

did you call them, or write? this seems outrageous to me considering this is all being caused by covid.....
while perhaps in 2020, it seemed that september 2021 was the logical date, with quarantines and the like right now, it's not clear when we'll all be going...
perhaps because of the celebration that's starting on october 1, 2021, they didn't want to extend the 2020 tickets beyond september, 2021.
But they could at least give you a credit for another ticket....

Perhaps try calling them (again, if you called them before) and ask for a supervisor.

We bought tickets from Attraction Tickets in November for use this August and they do expire 30/9/21 and they said 2 things
1. We can return tickets in exchange for 2022 tickets (obviously pay the difference)
2. They encouraged us to link on MDE and said this doesn’t activate the cards for use, that is the first time scanned at parks

good luck

I brought a 21 day ticket from Disney which was linked to my MDE account and they were extended to September 2021, but there was an option to contact them for a refund if we couldn't go. Once we contacted them they refunded the ticket cost within 24 hours. If you didn't buy them directly did you use a credit card? Could you make a section 75 claim for the money back?

Surely its not a section 75 though as the company are following their T&Cs? I would have thought this was more a claim for travel insurance.

You can apply the face value against a future ticket at guest services.

Doesn't feel like the best solution as most people would prefer getting their $ back, but at least you can apply it to tickets on your next trip. In that regard I don't think they ever expire.

Basically it works like this example:

5 day WDW 2020 ticket = $500
3rd party vendor sells it for $475

Ticket doesn't get used, instead it gets applied to a 5 day 2022 ticket that now costs $575. Holder has to pay the $75 difference between today's price and face value of expired ticket. I think you have to apply it to a more expensive ticket too, like you can't take an expired 5 day ticket and apply it to two 3 day tickets.

We also bought from attractions tickets direct for 2020. We wanted a refund as was unsure when to rebook. ATD offered 80% and said to claim the 20%on insurance (250 quid) Insurance said no as didn't cover pandemic. And tried section 75 as bought on credit card they also said no as I had accepted the 80%. Annoying and might only bu y direct next time. Good luck!

This is what I think happens, but now I am second guessing myself and wondering whether this applies to 14 day tickets purchased from Disney U.K. Daughter and I have AP vouchers but I have just booked a trip in December 2021 and my adult son is hoping to join us. He is in his final year at Uni, so he may have a job by December (so unable to join us), but I want to buy ticket media for him, so that I can make his APRs. It would be great if I could apply an unused ticket to a future ticket. I need to decide today, because rumour has it that WDW may announce a price increase this weekend.

Disney tickets always retain their value. It would be illegal for them not to.
