And in light of today's developments, they maybe decided too soon.Yes, and each and every one of them either already required vaccines before today (Carnival, NCL) or decided today to require them (MSC, Royal).
Disney is the last one to make a decision (as ususal)
Does he have that authority? Love this idea!Between the Fantasy news, then Genie+ and this, I don't think I can handle such a glut of information after such a trickle! I can see the next headline now: "Bahamas Prime Minister mandates that all cruise lines are to serve their mouse shaped waffles in the buffet dining room for breakfast".
You mean with the changes to the Fantasy? I see that, but they had to make a decision at some point. I was getting too close. The other way to look at it is the Bahamas could have made their decision earlier and saved Disney the headache. Tomato, TomatoeAnd in light of today's developments, they maybe decided too soon.
I know some think Disney has a lot pull and power....and they do. Yet they can't tell other countries who to let in. If they could maybe they would put in a word to New Zealand for me.Does he have that authority? Love this idea!![]()
Well, the virus is still a moving target so it was a tough decision for the Bahamas too. They depend on the cruise income, but my guess is, they concluded the risk was not worth the reward. As the covid cliche puts it..... "a virus is controlling everything".You mean with the changes to the Fantasy? I see that, but they had to make a decision at some point. I was getting too close. As I’m sure many of you are, I’m very curious what Disney’s response will be. More cancellations? Or simply, 12+ require vaccinations.
What good will cancelations do? They have 2 weeks to make adjustments at Port Canaveral if needed.
If they cancel then they will be cancelling likely in to 2022. Also with Disney being the only cruiseline not to get on board there is a chance this could always become permenant. It's not like Delta then Echo are going away.
I fully expect them to make adjustments, and require 12+ to be vaccinated. I’m just saying, it’ll be really interesting to see their response.
Regardless of whether you feel it makes sense or not, they have the right to govern their country as they see fit and they have passed this. Why do these conversations always veer to opinions about what is right/wrong/smart/dumb/etc.
Because this is a message board and thats kind of what it was made for? TheDis has multiple youtube shows/podcats that do the very same thing. When policies or mandates are instilled that affect WDW, DL, DCL, UO, etc guests and they don't make sense but have a HUGE impact on families, this is the exact place to discuss them.
I don’t know but there is a large number of guests that were booked on the 9/4 Fantasy when we woke up on Monday, shifted to the 9/6 4N Dream by Tuesday, and dealing with this on Wednesday.Got up this morning to see Royal made a decision last night effective sept. 1, now how long do we have to wait to see what Disney does?

we’re thirteen days out from when we fly to MCO for (WDWstays plus a shortened cruise currently but really who knows) whatever this vacation ends up looking like at this point.
