Started that scrapbook of my granddaughter today - with photos of all the hats and other assorted items she's been known to place on her head..

Decided to tell a "story" - from her point of view - as to how her love of hats developed.. Used First Grader font - in a really big size - and it looks great! I began at her birth - and when they put the stocking cap on her shortly thereafter..

I've finished 25 pages so far today and I have to say this project is turning out WAY better than I had hoped!!

Now I have a new dilemma though.. I started out making this as a gift for my DD's in-law's but it's turing out so extra nice I'm wondering if I should give it to my DD and her husband instead?? DD never gets around to putting any of her photos in albums and these are all photos that she doesn't have..

What do you all think??

A couple of captions I've used:

Photo: dressed in a clown outfit - standing on a sidewalk - people looking at her curiously.. "What are all these people staring at? Haven't they ever seen a clown ensemble before??"

Photo: a lavendar basket on her head.. "A tisket, a tasket, has anyone seen my basket??"

Photo: Santa hat with a HUGE smile.. "I just love these Santa Claus gigs!"

Photo: a company hat for the firm my DH used to work for.. "I only took the job for the hat!"

Photo: same as above, but with a binky in her mouth and this HUGE wide-eyed expression.. "Huh? They don't allow binkys on the job?? I'm outta here!!"

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

This is FUN !!! Wish I thought of it sooner !!

I got it moved for you. :)

How about giving the original to your dd and making color copies of the finished pages and making a second book for her parents?

Thanks SOOO much for moving this over here.. Guess I'm a little more tired than I thought.. LOL

Do you think the pages would scan or would I have to take them somewhere that had a professional copier?

What about trying to scan and taking a page to a professional copy center. You can decide then.

You could try scanning them. I do 12 X 12 pages so it's easier for me to just go to Kinkos and get color copies. They always come out great. :)

How much does Kinko's usually charge per page? I'm thinking that a copy center might capture the colors better than my scanner would..

Definately give to DD, and I agree, make copies for the others.

It sounds great C.Ann! :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Maybe if you are going to do a copy for the in-laws, you should cut it down to a composit format, so it isn't exactly like the one you give her. By this, I mean to combine several pages on one by reducing the size.
