Has anyone else had this happen to them? It looks like someone is trying to get into my paypal account, doesn't it? :guilty:

I received a different notice from "paypal". It sounds fishy to me, I'd delete it.

I don't think that's the right address for paypal to help with your account. I always just go to https//:www.paypal.com and then click on my account.........it asks for name and password........try that, see if you account looks fine, then go through the links to find tech support/customer support/ or some such and let them know what you received. Don't click on that link and tell them anything.......they may not be paypal.

I get these scammy things all the time, from "paypal" or "e-bay" I've been asked to confirm email adresses or my cc accounts by using the link. I have never clicked on the link, I just delete it. Or you can send it to paypal, I think they have a link where you can send them fake e-mails so they can look into it.

I received something from "Paypal" stating that someone had tried to access my account from an unknown ISP address and that I had to verify my account for security reasons. Even though that pesky little voice told me not to I went and verified my checking and credit card info. I then received a different e-mail from paypal about identity theft. I forwarded the other e-mail to them and they confirmed it did not come from them. So I had to cancel my credit card and change my checking.

Thanks, guys!!!!!!! :wave2: I went to my paypal account and they only have my email address, so I don't know what the deal is. I've had some of these from ebay and I always delete them, but it kindof worried me when I saw this one from paypal. I'm going to send it to their customer service. Thanks again for the advice!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEVER EVER click on any of those links they send you. If it is really from Ebay or Paypal they will have your name in the heading like Dear Jane Doe and not Dear Ebay user. Those are nothing but scams!!!

I get those same emails from "paypal" almost 7 days a week....first one I looked at and didn't click the link but forwaded it over to paypal who said it was not legit..after that I don't even open them anymore.

I get them all the time as well. I always send them to spoof@paypal.com to confirm if they are legit or not. True Paypal e-mail will address you personally.

I have actually had someone hack into my Paypal account recently. I had not used the account for some time and it only had like 6 dollars or something in it. I was at work and just happened to log into my Yahoo e-mail and found an e-mail from Paypal stating they had processed my withdrawal for $260+ from my checking account and then another e-mail directly after that said a payment had been made for some sort of online gaming access. I freaked out. I called Paypal and started with my million questions.....one of them being, how did this transfer happen automatically? I know you all who are familiar with Paypal will know what I'm talking about.........when you trasfer something from or to your checking account, it takes like 3 to 4 business days. This time it went automatically and the person then sent it straight out. They did note an address and eBay user name that was different from mine on the auction. The address was in the UK.

The woman at Paypal couldn't explain why it would transfer automatically but just said that sometimes it does. She asked if I had responded to one of those scam e-mails and I said no (which I hadn't). She walked me through how to change my password and how to complete the paperwork to dispute the transaction. I had to have these notarized and then take them to my bank and mail to Paypal. Luckily, my bank immediately reversed the charges so I was only without the money for a day. It's a good thing because I had some automatic payments coming through that I needed that money for.

Eventually, Paypal found that this was an unauthorized transaction. They had locked my account for the period in which they investigated so they fixed it back and refunded the money (which equalled out to just the 6 or so dollars that was in it to begin with as the bank had already reversed the charges).

Needless to say, it was a bit unsettling. I still use Paypal but watch it like a hawk now and immediately send any of those spoof e-mails to Paypal.

I have been getting a ton of these for about the past week. More than usual.

The idiots are sending them to my primary email address and my paypal address is a separate one. Get 'em for Ebay too.

Wouldn't you just love to get ahold of these creeps?!
