Uh oh...perhaps one too many?

I'm new to DVC and we are going on our first vacation "home" in February 2012. Our home resort is SSR. I booked a THV for my family of 5 and my sister's family of 4...and everything was hunky dory....until my mom said that she will be able to go (after saying that she wouldn't be able to.) So now we are officially going from 9 guests to 10. 2 of the guests are children (9 & 7) but I wasn't sure Disney would allow us to stay at our THV or make us move to a costlier 3BR IF one is available. I hate to have to do that, because we were planning another trip for the first week in December later next year and the jump in points would seriously cut into our points budget. I am all for throwing an air mattress down for bed space but I didn't know if we would "get in trouble" or be violating any rules. We are going the dining plan route, but her paying out of pocket for dining isn't an issue. Any guidance is much appreciated.

As above poster has said, your 10th person will not be able to utilize Magical Express from/to the airport nor will the 10th person be able to participate in any EMH since you will only have 9 Keys to the Kingdom for the room. Don't know what your plans are for transportation to/from the airport.......that is, if you are even flying......if not, ME is a moot issue. If both of these might present a problem for your group......you might want to check out the point cost at AKL or OKW for a 2 bdrm and a studio, which would give you sleeping arrangements for 11 I believe since 2 bdrms at both now sleep 9 and a studio would sleep 2.

I think 10 would be way too crowded based on what I've read about the treehouses. I reserved one for 7 of us and thought we'd be a bit crowded, but one person can't go. I think we'll be fine with 6 of us. But 10 people and 2 bathrooms? Nope.

The maximum occupancy for a THV is 9 plus a child under 3. Therefore, you would not be allowed to add your mom to your reservation.
