Uh oh, Croc wannabes for DD?

I am thinking about getting DD the Payless 'crocs' because she's weird and she will love them. The thing is though, she has more than enough sandals for this summer so I am going to get them now for next summer. How much bigger do you think I should go for shoes for a year from now? If I have her try some on now, should I go 1 full size bigger for next year? I know this is impossible to predict, just looking for ideas. Even if they are a little small, she will say they are perfect and refuse to let me throw them away (learned that lesson with slippers this year).

My DD usually grows one shoe size/ year, but like you said you can not predict that. What if the shoes are no longer the in thing? Will she still want to wear them? I made this mistake once, I got a great deal on some shoes for DD. Well by the next summer they were not fashionable anymore & she did not want to wear them.

I have the same problem. I want to buy then now for our late Nov trip because I'm afraid if I wait till the end of summer they will be gone. We live in Mi and I'm sure snow boots will be out by Aug! Not sure how big to buy them :confused3

I think it also depends on how old your daughter is and what the chances are of having a few growth spurts between now and then. DS's now almost 14, had always gone up 1 - 1 1/2 shoe sizes a year, but this past year they have both had growth spurts and are now wearing shoes 2 1/2 sizes bigger than they wore a year ago. I always remember my mother telling me how my sister went up 1 1/2 shoe sizes in a few months when she was in her early teens!

i'm with BCSMOM, if she is not going to get to wear them this summer, then don't even bother getting them. If they go on great clearance at the end of the season then you can think about it but until then, I wouldn't buy anything. Next year, if she still will like them, then buy them.

I sympathize with the poster with the Nov trip that is a pain but I don't understand the need to buy now -March- for next summer, not this summer, that is a long time from now, why? Are you afraid they won't be available ? If that is true she wouldn't wear them anyway even if you have them. After kids get out of the toddler years their foot growth is very unpredictable. My DD has gone from not changing to 3 full sizes in a school year. I wouldn't tie up my money on that gamble.
