Uh Oh.....Croc related!!!

I am another croc addict. I absolutely hate wearing anything but crocs.

I am at the point that if I could get away wearing them with dressy clothes.. I would.. but.. I can't.... yet. ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who looks for Crocs at WDW!

I actually saw them all over the place at our last trip to WDW a few weeks ago. I was chatting to a women near me who was wearing a pair and she said they were all over the place around her home town (Minasota I think).

In MI the only people I have ever spoted wearing some have been people I gave a pair too.

One kind of strange thing. I ordered my DH a pair for Christmas. With the same order I got myself and DD a pair. For some reason mine were normal, but DH's said "made in Mexico" on them. They did have the croc seal, just made in Mexico. Did they get a new plant to keep up with the demand?

I am wondering about the sizing too. Do they run big or small??? I am a 7 1/2 so what size should I buy??

Don't they make your feet all sweaty? Seems like that would start up a blister... :confused3

I thought the same thing. I'm thinking of getting a pair. I some foot pain issues and thought they may help. But it seems like they would make feet sweaty. Also I thought wearing them with socks would like a little funny. But then no socks=sweaty feet?? :confused3

I'm a Croc-er!!! I found out about them on the Dis in enough time to get them for our WDW vacation last May. Both DS and I wore them around the house for a few days to see if we would like them and we fell in LOVE with them. DS wore them EVERY day at WDW--I didn't. BIG mistake. He was foot-problem free, I had foot pain. Switched back to the Crocs--no problem.

Are the ugly? IMHO, YES!

Do they run big? I think so--I wear a 7 and the Crocs folks told me to get the mediums. But the small were too small so go figure.

Do you wear socks with them? We alternate. Sometime we do, sometimes we don't. But let me say that even when we did wear socks, it was very simple to remove socks prior to a water ride and stick them in our bag. After the ride the Crocs dry out SO fast that you don't have wet feet/socks and you don't have to carry another pair of shoes around or worry about your child being uncomfortable in wet shoes.

Do they make your feet sweat? Nope, never had that problem. Love the ventilation in them and like I said, they dry REALLY fast!!!

Isn't $30 a bit much for a pair of ugly, marshmallow shoes?? NOPE--my feet are happy, I'm happy. AND, I've had mine for over a year, have worn them on numerous vacations (not just WDW) and wear them at work, school, etc. Mine are still in great shape and will do well for me at WDW in May.

We're believers here!!! DS and I are getting geared up for our May trip and you better believe we will NOT leave home without our CROCS!!!

Another positive thing about Crocs....they weigh nothing!!!! You can pack 4 pairs of Crocs and they still won't weigh what one pair of sneakers weighs. This is great for those of us who have to watch how much our luggage weighs for plane travel.

lol..or if they DID take up luggage room, real crocs are edible, so you could 'smuggle' them...kinda..lololol

Do crocs rebuild themselves in the toilet like corn...now THAT is a question i don't want answered...lolol

Ok...done with my tangent...I know people love and swear by the comfort of crocs, and actually, they are now accepted as an appropriate nursing shoe for those in the medical field (may not apply to all areas, but in denver, they are OK)

I just picture jelly shoes and clogs in a horrible dream....lol...

I will go get a pair now though, and I'll let everyone know my opinion. I have to ask though, do I have to give up my Keds in public in exchange for them, or will wearing them alone in the house to test be ok?

REAL crocs can be eaten (I'm not kidding here). They are made of a substance that you could use for nutrients if caught off guard or lost your trail and had to survive overnight (gotta love the Boulder granola crunchers).

 :crazy2:

I'm going to have to take a bite out of mine. I'm in the rare minority of people who didn't like them too much. They were a huge disappointment to me after all the DIS hype from last year.

The width of my feet are narrow. Does anyone here have a narrow foot and the croc worked for you? Thanks for any answers. I have heard so much about them.

Okay I have a question. I dont have crocs. (yet) Where I work I always wear tennis shoes or something very comfy because I climb the stairs for exercise on my breaks. There are 388 stairs and i do it 4 times a day...very good exercise. Would I be able to climb stairs like that (exercise climbing I mean) with the crocs on? :hippie:

Boulderite here (but I don't do Granola). Mine are lime green with hot pink straps. I also have black metro's and red caymans. Our family has been wearing them for years now because our swim team coach is good friends with the owners and so she has worn the prototypes for a long time. So, we all started wearing them.

DD's - 1 pair yellow with dark green straps, 1 pair white.

DS - black
other DS - black, royal blue and red
DH - khaki with dark brown straps.

I keep wanting to get the boots for the kids, but haven't yet.

We love them to fly in. There are no metal parts in them, so the kids can clear security and we can just slip our off and on going through security.

We spent 10 days at Universal last year and we wore crocs every day. I also had my DN's with us (purple and hot pink), so there were 7 of us with every color on. One ride guy kept saying as we went by "there goes the crayola family."

All the kids here wear theirs to school. It is pretty much standard dress code around here :)

lol..so glad that SOMEONE got the Boulderite comment...lol..until they've lived here, they just don't understand!!!! lol

I still don't think people realize that real crocs are edible...are we privy to that invo living here??????

P.s. The Pearl Street Mall and I have a date on friday...sipping coffee watching the freaks go by....does it get any better than that????

I have narrow feet. I like them for the same reason I do all clog type shoes-no worries about the heels not fitting and rubbing. They are loose, but I've had plenty of other clogs throughout the years that fit the same way. I would definitely try them on first though, primarily for length. I can wear mine with/without the strap though, mainly because the strap stretches, so if you have a wider foot, it stretches out, and it just stays the same for feet that don't need the extra space. I wear my real pair and my payless pair all the time though. LOVE them!

Havent' been a corc fan 'cause I thought they were too darn ugly - actually we didn't have them where we moved from & when we moved here they were all over & its the only shoe dd is allowed to wear on out of uniform days - so I didnt' want her to feel neglected so I bought her a pair - & narutally she loves them & then dd#2 had to have a pair...I have NOT tried any on yet so I have NO idea what they are like---BUT I can't imagine how your feet dont' sewat up a storm in the plastic - I dont' get it.... :confused3 Dd did say her feet were hot in them like the 1st day she wore them = but hasn't complained about them since.

HOw much are you paying for them where you are? DD#1 I found @ Shoe Station for $24.99 & dd#2 could only find in a "boutique" store for $29.99 (she's a size 8 or so in toddlers).... They are pricer say then the normal sandals/shoes we buy but if they love them & wear them daily then I figure I got my $$ worth....

Are they more comfy than Birkenstocks??? I LOVED my Birks when I had them (I wore them for a year or so then packed them up for winter in a plastic shoe holder & they mildewed so I haven't bought any again...BUT I LOVED those shoes!)

See I must be a little werid because I like the way the beach ones look. I really do. My DD looks so cute in pink ones on her little feet. When you are a kid, they go with everything. I even got my DH to start wearing them.

Sometimes I think it isn't so much that crocs are comfy, as that once you get used to them, all other shoes are really uncomfortable. :rotfl: ;)

I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of most of my other shoes. I never wear anything else unless I'm dressed up. DD and I are croc-ers. I have three pairs and she has two. She says the bright yellow ones would be perfect for a WDW vacation because they look just like Mickey shoes. :rotfl:

We're both eyeing those cute new flip-flops for summer. Anyone know if the website is selling them yet? I'd be tempted to get some for our birthdays while they have no shipping if they are.

My feet sweat a lot. They hardly ever get sweaty in these shoes. :confused3 Once in a while (usually in the winter?) my feet will get squeaky in my shoes, so I take one off and rub the bottom of my foot on the leg of my jeans and it seems to do the trick.

I'm trying to talk my DS and DH into some of the new flip-flops too. I know if they ever try them they'll be hooked. And DS's feet stink so bad. That's another thing that's wonderful about crocs. They don't smell.

I think Crocs are DEFINATELY more comfortable than Birks, and for the price I paid for my Birk clogs, I could have bought 5 pairs of Crocs!
