Well, after much turning up my nose at these shoes, I got a pair for my birthday. I put them on and lo and behold, my feet just loved them. At first I wore them around the house, then out when I went to get the paper in the morning.....then to the store when I went grocery shopping....and then, to work! Now it has gotten to the point that all my other shoes are starting to feel neglected.

I got navy blue ones which are great, but now I discovered that I need black ones to wear with black pants to work.

We went to a discount shoe store here in Asheville, and they have them in tons of colors!!! I immediately began to salivate.....I knew that the black ones would be practical, but the pink, red, purple and royal blue ones were just calling my name. As hard as it was, I ended up being practical, but all the way home my mind was racing.....what can I do without these next few weeks to get a pair to go with all the color combinations that I wear???? What is a Croc loving woman to do????

More on this when I figure it out......LOL

Linda

Sounds like a good plan to me (buy one in every color)!

Wish I could find some on sale! Those puppies are pricey! :)

I bought my laterst pair---purple beach style--in December....even though it won't be warm wnough to wear them until at least mid April. I wasn't able to find purple in my size last summer, so I jumped at the chance to get these....

To the OP: I sympathize with you....it isn't easy being an adict!

:rotfl2: I could have written this! "I'm just going to wear them to work in the yard." Now I have black, navy, white and next on my list is khaki...

Just be careful getting dressed in the dark - went to a doctor's appt. wearing one black & one navy. Boy, did I feel :goofy:

A discount shoe store carries them? How far is it from Rhode Island to Asheville. :)

Can I ask some questions? When I've tried them on, one size seems too small, and one seems too big. I'm normally an 8...what size would I order/buy?

Do you wear socks with them???

I'm a Croc novice...haven't taken the plunge yet. But reading here about the addiction, maybe I just shouldn't start...they say that's the best way, you know. :)

Welcome to the club new convert. You are welcome here, we are a peaceful people, I just know you're gonna love it here

Did you know we have a name? I was at the Tiki Room and the lady next to me said "Oh, fellow croc-ers".
So, hey to all fellow croc-ers! :thumbsup2

Okay, don't get mad.... but for the longest time I had no clue what Crocs were. I kept seeing threads about them all the time and still had no clue, but they sounded like the greatest thing since sliced bread. Then I finally saw them and I was sorta speechless. They aren't the most attractive shoes I've ever seen, nor the cheapest. So what is so great about them? Are they truly that comfortable? :confused3

Yes, they are that comfortable!! :thumbsup2 I have a moss green pair. My DH has one in black. My DSis has about 3 pair. Another DSis has the khaki. DMom has too many to count. She has addicted all the grandkids. My DD has 4 pair and she is only 6 - purple, light blue, red and navy. My DNiece has them in multiple colors and even the changeable straps - so orange crocs with blue straps - can anyone say Go Broncos?! My 2 y.o. DNephew even has his own brown pair - they are adorable.
I also have 2 pair of sandals - pink and purple - EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE!
I do find that my feet get dirty in the sandals. Oh well. Just wash them at the end of the day. My DH loves them because he has arthritis and very bad knees. He just slides them right on - wears them in the winter as along as there is no snow (sans socks). My DD wears hers with her ballet leotard, just slides them on right over tights - so much nicer then messing around with sneakers and the classes are changing.

Can you tell my parents live in Colorado?! That's where the creators are from so they've had them out there for awhile. DM goes croc crazy and pairs just arrive in the mail. Its great!! :woohoo:

YES!! :cloud9:

We went to Epcot today, and I wore my New Balance tennies, which was a mistake. I should have worn my Crocs because I would not have had any blisters (my tennies are broken in and I now have a blister on each foot), and my feet would not have been hot.

We went to AK and MK one day at the the beginning of the month, and even with all the walking, my feet were comfortable and blister-free. Plus, if they get dirty, all you have to do is rinse them off.

Well, I guess they are pretty good. They seem to have a loyal fan base. I especially like the walking on marshmellows comparision. :goodvibes I might have to break down and try them. ;) They are just so funny looking. BTW, is there one place that stands out as a good place to get them? Or just anywhere that sells them?

I am a recent convert as well. I hate wearing shoes - any shoes, and that is the one thing about our days at WDW that was always the hardest decision. Well, last weekend, I was going to hit the mall and get a pair at Dillards, but we were in Sport Authority, and my DD came over and said - they have those shoes... so we each got a pair - great for her too... neither of us like socks - flip flops and birkenstocks are the norm - anyway - all they had in my size were red - and she got hot pink. We wore them the very next day - sans socks to EPCOT. They were great. Best things was the adult sizes were $7.00 off. I saw on the Croc website that until January there is free shipping, and I think for most states no tax (now that we are in FL I have remember there is tax on shoes - PA didn't have tax on clothes/shoes).

I would like a blue pair to wear with jeans - my size 10 feet really stand out it the red ones, but I love red! It was funny how many people I noticed that day at EPCOT with crocs - 6 people right in line waiting for the park to open!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who looks for Crocs at WDW!

I should clarify something from my original post. The shoe store I got my new crocs in....TOPS for Shoes in Asheville, NC, is not exactly a discount shoe store, but they do sell top name brands for a few dollars less than other places. The cheapest Crocs I have found in town were $34.99. TOPS had them for $30...a bit of a discount.

I also tried on Holey Soles ( good but no comparison to the real Crocs ) and every off brand ( don't even go there! ) to see if any of these worked....but my feet just really really like the real Crocs.

Yes, being an addict is tough. Shall we start a group??? Hi, my name is Linda and I am a Croc addict...........

Linda

I feel I must warn you all...be weary of it they are actual 'crocs' or spinoffs.

Crocs originated here in Denver by a small company that didn't expect them to go anywhere...it was a local thing. They didn't patend (is that the right spelling??) them in time, so there are A LOT of knock offs that can be bought at places like payless, ect. Those are NOT crocs...

REAL crocs can be eaten (I'm not kidding here). They are made of a substance that you could use for nutrients if caught off guard or lost your trail and had to survive overnight (gotta love the Boulder granola crunchers).

I've actually never worn crocs, they just remind me too much of two different eras of my youth (a cross between clogs and jelly shoes...lol), but, most people in colorado seem to love them.

Just wanted to let you know, that if you own REAL crocks, and are hungry, go for it as long as you didn't step in any doody...lol

LJC1861-There are several other places around that have them for that price, but they do sell the Cayman style for 30, when it's usually 40. Dillards, Journeys, and Dicks all have them for 30. Mine came from Journeys (in Raleigh actually, long story). All those other stores had them for that price though because I tried to buy them in a particular color for a while, just had trouble finding it in my size. I got a pair for my DSisIL for Christmas from Tops though while they were doing their preferred customer sale. 20% off! Awesome. Their manager (owner? whatever) is a truly great guy, and the redheaded women's saleslady is great too. I'm sure the others are as well-I just know those too well.

LOL...I did this the other day with my Land's End clogs. Wore one blue and one black. I am so anal that I turned around and went back home to fix my mistake! :rotfl:

I really want a pair of khaki Metro Crocs. Where's the best deal online for Crocs? I wear an 8 1/2 so would I get an 8 or 9?

Thanks!
