I think BCV and BWV might have just gotten even harder for non-owners to book (once Star Wars Land opens). I think there is a huge portion of the population who will go to Disney JUST to go to DHS and Star Wars Land...Might drive BCV and BWV up big time...

Very true. I half expect Disney/DVC to announce a new hotel/villas near the north edge of Hollywood Studios or to the left of the Parking area (Disney owned land) to be constructed by 2021 (or Disney's 50th anniversary) and finished alongside Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land. The North side of the park will basically become Star Wars Land...Huge opportunity for a hotel/villas that "walk in" to the park there...ie BLT at MK.

This might get interesting over the next 4 years to see what DVD/DVC does? ROFR the heck out of BWV...hold on to it, and start selling at 165 per point as 2021 nears and people want to add on there? (obviously not changing end date) Build a new Villa complex closer to DHS...Possibly Boardwalk Phase 2? *lets see what they do with Wilderness lodge)...Or, build an entirely new resort near DHS, like I said...imagine "walking in" to Star Wars Land...

I think demand for BWV will skyrocket as the "new" DHS is about to near completion at the 50th Anniversary. IT will impact BCV as well, but BWV is primed to become a major destination hotel for what might become a park that gets as close to rivaling MK as possible (but with a different client base)...Star Wars Land, Toy Story Land, Fantasmic, Tower of Terror, Rockin Roller Coaster, rumored Indiana Jones Ride...

There is a rumor of DVC plans for BC/YC expansion after the WL expansion. Depending on PVB and WL expansion size/sales, this seems close to the timing of when Star Wars land at DHS may be completed.

With Toy Story and Star Wars coming to DHS, BWV and BCV are going to become even more popular and harder to get into. I'm definitely holding on to my BWV points.

What with VWL, BLT, VGF and POLY it will probably be easier to get a resort at 7 months in the MK area than the Epcot area.

I was thinking the same thing. Perhaps I should have chosen BWV or BCV after all.. oh well!

In the past, though some usually temporary increases in demand for DVC resorts has occurred with additons to a park, they have been overall inscreases for all WDW DVC resorts rather than just ones for a particular resort close to the applicable park. Star Wars will be a major change but unclear whether it will result in increases in demand at BCV or BWV that is any greater than the likely increases for other resorts while the additon is still "new." Food & Wine has been a more, long term driver for increased demand at BCV and BWV, but it has equally affected the other DVC resorts which have also heavy demand during that period. In other words, I suspect the additon of Star Wars land will mean increased demand for all WDW DVC resorts for a while, and if they add some lengthy event to go along with it, likely in the spring, that is as popular as Food & Wine, you could get long term increases for that time of year, not just for BCV and BWV but all WDW DVC resorts.

Very exciting news. I'm definitely holding onto my BWV now!!!

Or sell for a nice profit and buy new with an extended end date elsewhere. Should be interesting and exciting. Personally I'm not a Star Wars nut (don't mean that in a negative way). I hope while they do the expansion on both lands that they also update and use some of the closed Theaters/exhibits for add'l attractions/shows. AP's and ticket prices I'm afraid are in for a big increase.

I have both BWV and BLT.

Bought BLT in December, just 8 months ago, for far less than the current resale price (?! What is going on there? It's crazy now!). I plan on selling BLT in 10yrs, when kids are 12 and 15.

But will hang onto BWV till the bittersweet end :). I would only profit 3-4k on the sale on my 200 point contract. Over 27 years, it's really only $100-200/yr. Just not worth it.

Something about that location and the std point saver rooms have hooked me line and sinker!
