The typical McMansion is quite ugly.

I don’t know that it’s the ugliest building anywhere, but it’s an eyesore on Long Island. Having been Designed by a renowned architect doesn’t help matters. Stony Brook Hospital sits next to a major university in suburbia and stands taller than anything nearby. On a clear day you can see this beauty from the waters of the LI Sound.

The Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh. The city has ordnances that state that any new construction must match the existing buildings neighboring it, which is why Edinburgh looks so old-timey. However, the Parliament building is just atrocious. I can't believe this is what they went with:

I just have to ask the question. Why pour all that concrete to make the stairs go all the way up there when you can just make something that fits the lot better and make a walk to the lower level?

This is city hall in Lackawanna, just south of Buffalo. . Easily the ugliest building in western NY, if not the world. Yep, it’s orange.

Ok the computer is a wonderful building tool. But just because you can cad all kinds of different colors or textures or even styles together, doesn't mean you should.

Our first example. A hideous bunch of colors that don't go together. Destined to become the brutalist style of the new millennium



I see mixed use buildings are jealous of McMansions. But they forgot the round turret. So close, but yet so far.

To be honest, this one might look better with the hideous color combinations. Then again, puke may be its color seeing as how it looks like Godzilla ate parts of about 15 buildings or so and puked them up.

Personally, I think most of these buildings are pretty cool looking. I’d take them any day over another shapeless, colourless, boring government building.

Without Googling, can any of you place this building?
