Ugh! What's the best otc meds for a head cold?

I can't believe that I have yet another cold! I have been sick with one thing or another since before Christmas!! I have a sore throat, head ache, sniffles, sneezing and body aches. What's the best stuff to take? I don't feel like I have a fever.

Tomorrow I am calling to make an appointment to get our furnace and duct worked cleaned. I have heard that if these things aren't cleaned you can just keep recirculating all your germs...yuck! It's been over a year since it's been done.

Count me in the "new cold" club, too. I really like Aleve Cold & Sinus for the daytime, and of course the ole stand-by Nyquil at night.

I'm also using Zicam, in hopes of shortening this cold. I used it for another cold, and it did seem to shorten it (only a week long, vs. the 4 week cold/cough I had without it!). Crossing my fingers for this one.....

The best thing you can do is start Zicam as soon as you feel a cold coming on and continue it for 24 to 36 hours. You're cold will leave quickly.

If it's too late (you've had your cold more than 2 days) my favorite meds are Tylenol or Advil Cold & Sinus. Sudafed, any kind, is great at draining your sinus.

During the day I like to take Day-Quil liquicaps, they help me to function when I am feeling under the weather.

My hubby and I both have bad colds right now. I had bronchitis last week and am finished the antibiotics, but now I think it is just a cold left behind. Now my hubby has the bronchitis and is on antibiotics too. I take Tylenol cold and sinus in the dual pack with daytime pills and nightime pills to help me sleep. I feel for everyone suffering with wicked head colds now. I almost feel like a migraine is starting, but just a sinus headache, I'm sure! Good luck everyone.
