I just finished booking HRH for my August trip with my son. Pros: The close proximity to the parks, The cool pool, Good Price for Club room, Rock Vibe would appeal to my 14 yo son.

Cons: I am not really liking the room decor from pics I have seen.

I just looked at some pics of Portofino Bay rooms, and that appeals to me soooo much more!!! Absoulutely, breathtakingly beautiful.

I am now regretting my hotel choice. Do you think I would like PBH better??? Can you change your resort like you can with your WDW reservations??
I am truly rethinking about changing to PBH....I just love the Italy feel, and the beauty of the rooms!

Please help me decide, LOL....I am going in circles in my mind!!!!! :confused3

i have stayed at all the onsite hotels.
once for PBH, over 22 stays at HRH and 3 at RPH.

there are pros and cons to all of them for me.

yes, you can change your hotel by calling.
prices for rooms are different for each hotel.

if you plan to stay with club level, do be aware that not all club rooms at PBH are on the floor where the club lounge is.

i feel the club level at PBH is much better than the one at HRH.
the club lounge at HRH is much smaller size wise.
the club lounges at RPH and PBH are larger in comparison.

Yes, the surroundings, atmosphere and setting at PBH are breathtaking.
Most that stay there do love it for the atmosphere it reflects.

the pools there are really great.

you can pool hop to any of the hotel pools, it is encouraged.
all you need to do is bring your hotel key for proof of stay.
you can get towels, pool toys at each of the hotel pools to use so you do not have to bring your own with.

I do know at RPH and HRH there are many activities at the pool that are organized by the TM's there.
I'm sure PBH has it too but i did not see it there last year.
it might have been due to the pool i went to and the time period.

if the pool at HRH is what is swaying your decision, be reassured you can still go to that pool if you do not stay at that hotel.

you can still dine at the Kitchen at the HRH if you stay at PBH.

Go ahead and enjoy the rooms and atmosphere at the PBH.
then do some breakfast or dinner at the Kitchen for the ambiance of HRH.
also do the pool on a day there.

My favorite hotel now is RPH.
i know you didn't ask for that but thought i would throw that in...

THANK YOU!!! So much for your quick response!!!! Well, as I was waiting to hear, I phoned LEOWS and was transferred to a rep at US. We talked about all my concerns/thoughts and she really recommended that I go with PBH, she thought it would fit my wants much more, and as you said....She also encouraged us to try the pool at HRH if we want to. I went ahead and changed to a club room at PBH. It was only $20.00 more / night, and for the larger rooms/prettier ambience/feel.... I think I will be happier there.

No more changes now, as I have to wait for a refund from my first ressie at HRH. With the currency exchange, etc... I think it is not a good thing to be making too many changes even though our $$ is doing pretty good at the moment!

I think I will enjoy PBH

you will really have a larger room at the pbh.

and, you will be happy you switched.

the only con i have with that hotel is the distance to the parks.
you can take the shuttle bus, the water taxi or walk the path from the hotel to the parks.

i save my walking for the parks so i did the water taxi.

the pros of the PBH overcome any cons i do have.

take the water taxi from pbh to where it lets you off near city walk.
get in the line then for the HRH hotel shuttle and use that to go there for the pool or eats.

it will not take much time to do that.

a $20 difference is not much at all!!

hope you have a great stay there!!

Everyone has different preferences. In our family, we each prefer a different hotel!
