I was just getting our confirmation #'s so I could check in to our flights tomorrow & set my phone alarm so I could remember to check in for our return flights next week.

I realized I booked two different return flights for us.

I booked my trip separate using frequent flyer miles & DH & DD on a separate trip. I was certain we had the same flights. Instead they had a 9:45 return flight and I had a 12:45 one.

So, there goes $175 of our trip money to rebook so we all have the same flight. Normally I'd just enjoy the heck out of a flight back by myself, but since we'll have so much luggage & the car seat etc I figured I wouldn't make DH do it all on his own.

Try to get the airline to help you free of charge. I did something similar once and us air helped me out free of charge. It's worth a shot. Good luck

Are you sure that the airline didn't change the return flight for your DH and DD? Personally, I think that you are underestimating your DH and his ability to fly alone with your DD. Go to the airport with them, kiss them goodbye and have a relaxing couple of hours at the airport.

I would save the money and fly on my own. Since you both have flights just head to the airport with him and help him check the carseat, then kick back with a few magazines and relax until your flight.

If I was going to sit for three hrs at th airport the i would switch
Time is money
But if you are going to sit three hrs on the beach screw it:cool1:

I agree with this. Since you booked the flights separately (they aren't linked in the airlines' system), there is a good chance your DH's and DD's flight was shuffled off to a different time to accommodate the volume of bookings the airline received.

I would agree with you if this was the outbound flight, but it's the return flight. She would be spending $58 per hour to fly on the same flight and maybe not even be next to her family. For that amount of money, I'd wander the shops at MCO, get a cup of coffee, fire up the DISBoards app and have a relaxing time.

Do you have your original reservation? Were you on the same flight to start with? I could call the airline and see if they moved you to a different flight. If they moved you to a flight that leaves of returns more than 2 hours (I think) you can ask for a free rebooking to a flight of your choice that has seats. I booked my DH DD on one flight and me on another using points for our Spring Break trip because I was able to use less points per person than if I booked us all at the same time :furious:. Our outbound flight changed (they canceled out 8:30 departure and put us on the 6:00 am flight) but they left the connection in place. I was able to change our flight for free to a 5:55 departure and we are getting in 2 hours earlier! Delta emails you when there is a flight change but those email often get lost in the shuffle so I keep my original confirmation and check my flight status occasionally.

It's all good, I got it changed. We fly Southwest so we'll be next to each other :goodvibes

Because of the time & travel involved in getting to the airport (both in CA and here in CO) it's much easier if we fly together.

Have fun! I didn't notice I was posting on the DL board, LOL! LAX is a pit and is far less relaxing than MCO. *I* would have still sucked it up for $175, though ;).

Last year my DSIL booked her flights backwards. Departing from John Wayne and getting into Seattle (her home town). She discovered this the night before her 8:00 am flight when she was checking the family in. The kids were all ready in bed, bags were packed. I can't imagine telling the kids they aren't going to Disneyland the day they were leaving. The airline worked it out with her, she got the family on two seperate flights the same day. It required sitting at the airport waiting but in the end they all got to Disney.

For future reference, if you book two separate bookings for flights together, the airline can link your bookings together, which should stop them from moving one and not the other - you just have to call them and ask. You'll need to give them the booking reference numbers (PNR).
