We were supposed to leave for WDW tomorrow at 640 and I just found out our flight was cancelled. I'm on hold w/ SWA. Anyone know what they do when your flight is cancelled due to weather?? :sad1:

Rebook you on the next available flight, subject to availability... and you go on a wait list if the next available flight is full.

You get rebooked behind the people that are on the flight that makes it out. Stay on hold. The sooner you get your reschedule in the better. Get your name on the standby lists ASAP as well.

I'm trying to change it online....am I gonna have to pay the difference??

You shouldn't have to pay any difference, because it's weather related.

I work for AA... we will change you under this kind of situation, no change fee, no fare difference, or you can get a full refund (even on a nonrefundable fare).

No. No charges will apply in this case.

Sorry your flight was cancelled. Hope you get out soon!

Southwest doesn't normally charge change fees. No airline charges them if flights are cancelled or you change your flights due to weather emergencies that they have recognized as such.

We were stuck in MCO last week due to the winter storm that hit Philly. W were supposed to fly out late Weds. nite but Southwest had called and told us that our late flight was going to be canceled and asked if we wanted to move up to an earlier flight to try and beat the storm. We took a 3:30pm flight. Got to the airport and tried to curbside check-in and as they were printing our boarding passes that flight got canceled. We rebooked for the next morning, got to the airport, got checked in, got in line for "A" boarding, only to get told that that flight, too, was canceled. UGH! So anyway, southwest was great, they gave us a voucher to use for 40% off certain hotels and rebooked us for the next day out.

Southwest will work with you to get you out as soon as possible! Hopefully it works out!

OP HERE

So I'm sitting in raleigh, nc. We were able to switch flights got us on the only plane out pretty much everything else was cancelled. Actually the agent thought that our flight would eventually cancel but thankfully ours still left. Let me tell u how fun it is to watch them de-ice the plane lol

Thanks for everyones help I was a wreck last night.

Eta I did have to pay something for taxes and security fee. It was only 27 bucks...I had to do this cause my original was a non stop and this was a one stop. Ill be in Disney by LUNCH

At least they *can* deice the plane! I was stuck for hours in Tampa in a plane sitting on the tarmac waiting for the sun :sunny: to melt the ice off the wings :rotfl:.

Thanks for the update. Glad you were able to switch flights. Enjoy.

Op, if I were in your shoes, and rescheduling the flight, I'd probably try to reschedule a flight that was scheduled to depart on Thursday afternoon/evening or maybe even Friday. I would think that airports in the region would be closed tomorrow (Wednesday). And even after the airport opens again (Thurs??) flights will probably be somewhat backed-up and maybe running behind schedule.

Sorry your flights were cancelled.

I am glad that you were able to get out. My DH was supposed to fly tomorrow morning to Chicago and cancelled his flight. From Chicago he was going to Ft. Lauderdale so he is going to try to go Boston to Ft. Lauderdale on Thursday but that looks doubtful. Depends on how ahead of the snow they keep.

Have fun!
